"I Got Fangs"
ok... I know I'm a lady but I haven't learned to turn my wheels when leaving a parking lot that has a pretty big dip it in, so....... when I drive down that dip and my car is scraping the ground with my metal skid plates and I hearing that ear piercing sound, I'm saying "oh no, I just tore the bottom out of my car" I don't feel pretty good and of course I pull over right away to look at my car to find out I'm ok, just scraped up pretty good.
So for SANITY purposes, I started researching what I could put under the bottom of my car. I saw this device that are wheels but wasn't crazy about them. So I kept researching and discovered a part that covers the metal skid plates so now when I do scrape the bottom I'm not hearing metal grinding the ground and I'm protecting them. What a life saver for me and the car!!
Will I ever get the hang of turning the wheels? Is there a driving course out there for that?

Just remember that you want the car to be going "diagonal" over any big dips, or bumps that may cause the bottom to scrape. And slow down before going over these obstacles!

Buy a set of frame savers for the rocker panels on the sides also. Will help when bottoming out on speed bumps and scraping the underside of the rockers.

Any pics of the fangs? I read they only come in white and cannot be painted due to the type of plastic used.

They are white, I would not care if they were pink or purple.... they serve the purpose and to me that is more important than the color... and its not like you can really see them...

Just have to condition yourself to go over dips at an angle. If you do hit pavement, just remember that if you hit hard even with the protectors on, it could bend the radiator support.

You are right, paint will not sick to them and neither will the pavement
or parking blocks. They will just slide very smoothly.
Also they aren't totally white when installed, the black skid plate kind of turns them light gray when the black shows through.
Here is a link where we have a few pictures and a video where
you can watch us beat them up.

Hafta say it!
When approaching a bump say - I am not a blonde - I am not a blonde - I am not a blonde. I can slow down and approach on an angle. Sorry but couldn't resist. I know this will come back to haunt me.

You can put wheels on the front of the Cradle:
http://www.customcorvetteaccessories...fattdaddy.html
And rocker panel savers on the bottom of the frame, between the wheels attatched top the frame:
http://www.customcorvetteaccessories...rotectors.html
These will protect you from doing unecessary damage
Thanks,Matt

Melting Slicks
I bought a set of the "FANGS" at Vette Magic here in Sacramento. They've paid or themselves twice already.
The white doesn't bother me at all...you barely even see them down there. You have to be on your hands and knees.
