Car with 4 owners
I am looking to buy a used C5. There is this 2002 Z06, 20K miles, clean title. When I ran carfax, it showed four owners. I want to get it inspected but owner lives in country side and it's not convenient to take it for inspection. Not sure if I should take a leap of faith and buy it. I am not very hands on kind of guy and I am planning to use car as a daily driver so need a car that's reliable. Would four owners raise a red flag?

Four owners should not raise a red flag. Lots of folk buy something and rather quickly loose interest in it.
Getting a car inspected that you plan to use as a DD is a good idea. If the current owner can't accomodate that for you then move on. There are a lot of low mile C5's available at a reasonable price.

C6 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
The fact that it had 4 owners wouldn't bother me.

I wouldn't worry about it since it has such low miles on it and if it is in great condition then all should be good!
Thanks,Matt

Also, think of it this way... if you are wondering about it having 4 owners, what's going to happen if you try and sell it some day.. a buyer will wonder why it's had 5 owners.

it would bother me a bit also. the car fax should give you a decent insight into the service record of the vehicle (if it appeared to have been in for a lot of work over the 4 owners than i would take a pass). if it was just for normal service and it appeared that the car didn't travel well outside the original place of purchase i wouldn't let it bother me. if for instance the car has traveled from state to state over the 4 owners, i would be a bit suspicious. how long has the current owner had it?? what is his (or her) explanation as to why they are selling it?? if you are really sold on the car, there are inspection companies that will travel to the car for inspection purposes. it all comes down to how serious you are and how good a deal it might seem to be. remember all these costs add on to the total cost you are paying for the car.

I bought one with 4 owners and 73K miles.
I think the last owner is what counts. I found the guiy who last owned mine to be trustworthy; he had documented and fixed all problems of which he was aware.
15K miles later I could not be happier.

My car had 4 owners before me. The one immediately before me had it for 50 miles.
He bought it, drove it home, his wife threw a fit, and he drove it back to the dealer.

If I cannot actually find out who the previous owner or owners were and the complete maintenance record on the vehicle since new I pass on it. You may be comfortable with the guy that has it now and they seem responsible but one of the three owners before him could have been someone who didn't drive a lot of miles and only drove them on the weekends but did them 1/4 mile at a time.
I have found cars that had less than 10,000 miles that were beat to hell mechanically and others with 75,000 miles that were literally still like new.

I bought mine used through a Corvette dealer with a 1 year warranty, i wouldn't trust buying a used high performance car without it, you never know who over revved the heck out of it, or slam shifted second gear chirps all day long, and i see and hear it all the time people with manual trans just leaving the car in a lower gear and cruising while the engine is at high RPM, when in doubt MOVE ON!

I would question the current owner about why he wants to get rid of it. My car is a 01 Z06 that I purchased in Feb. It was also a 4 owner car with only 30k on it. He purchased it with 17k on it and had all docs. I would do a GM service history on it.
