What happened to the CORVETTE WAVE?

We just took our 2000 corvette to get a tune and put on the dyno yesterday and we must have seen at least 5 other vetts and they just looked at us like do I know you
I think only true Corvette people know about the wave
Maybe when people sell there vettes to someone we should tell them to keep the wave going Please

Gave the wave today to a black C6 and a gold C4, both waved back. I think we actually waved at the same time. Did have a lady last week in a yellow C5 not wave back.

Sad to say, some of today's owners don't even open their hoods ( you know the type, I let my mechanic do that stuff). Why are we surprised they don't wave? Real car guys/gals WILL always wave if they see you.

Just completed a 1140 mile run over a 4 day week-end, passed maybe 15 vettes and got a return wave from maybe 5. C-6's = no return wave...

It's 50-50 even in our family. He waves---scouts out the road a mile ahead looking for a vette. She does not wave when driving hers---turns her head, pretends to be looking in the rearview mirror or something....finds it embarrassing and on-the-spot putting. She speaking here, not he.

most, but not all, the C6's are leased - these guys no nothing about Vetts- all they are interested in is "looking cool".
Some of the time the other guy doesn't see your car, some times he's dialing his cell phone because he's so important to National Security and sometimes he'll look at you like you're either from Mars or you're trying to connect with him.
Don't worry about the other guy, just keep the wave going.

Get lots of waves in this area
. I did wave to guy in a C4 a while back, but he did not wave back. By the look on his face though, I think he was shocked that someone not in a C4 waved to him.

i got 5 in the first day i drove mine
i think so far i have 100% from the ones that can when i pass (kinda hard when you have to shift going around a turn).
ive even gotten them form the other side of the interstate

It's fading out with time. Lots of newbie's who don't get it and some who are oblivious to their surroundings. Plus there's more than a Million of em.
Had a C5 come at me from the other direction today and there was no way he could have missed me on the single lane hwy. Not only did he miss the wave, he missed a torch coming right at him. He never even saw the car!!! His hands where at 10 & 2. It was salient he was the living-dead. His C5 looked depressed.
That stuff don't bother me. I just wave out of courtesy and if no return, it's a wave at the Vette. Just like in the military where you respect the rank.

I get about 50% wave backs, but with the tinted windows of so many Corvettes, the other 50% could be waving and I can not see them. I will give them credit even if it is not due. Love the vette!!
