[Z06] 2001 z06 price check?

2001 z06 price check?
what would a fair price for a black 01z with 5000 miles one owner be? and is that to low, would it be running the risk of dried up seals, and i know there was oiling issues with the 01's and is there a way to check for it and was there any other issues with the 01's?

I would try everything out and make sure that it works correctly, check DIC for codes, etc ...
No way to know about oil burning without driving the car for some time and checking on the oil consumption.
Nothing wrong with 2001 Z06's, I have a Speedway White one and love it.

Get the GM service history report from your GM dealer with the VIN # ( no charge). Read my GMPT documented history of the oil consumption issues with the GEN 3 LSX engines. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-z...-question.html
The 5000 miles you mention since 2001. Was that mileage all put on in one year or gradually, with loving attention to warm up periods and fresh fuel, ect over the 9.5 years.
I'll assume the GYF1 tires are OEM. They will have to be replaced. What maintenance was performed during the car's intern? Did the owner periodicly go out and start the engine?( hope not!) Does the fuel gauge still function? The A/C function?
In what conditions was this car stored? The saying 'use it or lose it' comes to mind with every low mile car in long term storage. Engine rubber wears out from the inside out. Weather seals , drive belt dry out just from sitting. The Bose speaker cones also dry out.
I would have to know a lot more about this car before I would be interested, unless #1 the price was reflective of what you may have to replace or you have all the above history on the car and got that big warm fuzzy feeling. Get a car fax, GM history report , and have a qualified ( familiar with C5 Corvette) inspect the car BEFORE you consider buying ( unless you have lots of money and need a hole to put it into). Even with the low milage there is always a BETTER DEAL tomorrow.
Good luck , DD

Plenty of choices.......
I have an '01 Z06. I wanted the first year to add to my collection. I waited for the right car. But I tell everyone to wait and buy the car they really want, There are so many excellant cars out there that a little patience and a plane flight will be an investment in pleasure.

i will be replacing tires and modding, i want a 02-04 because of the power but i would take a 01 and do a cam with the money i save along with the boltons i would do to a 02-04 i just am not sure what to offer because its on ebay but is local and i asked how much he was looking to get and he said in the high 20's. but that is what i would expect to pay for a 02-04

Last fall we got a 2001 Z06 with 3100 miles for $23,000. We put 10,000 miles on her over the winter with no problems. Check the GM history, if OK jump on it.

Too much!!! i paid $23,900.00 an 04z with 18k on it from the original owner, 2 months ago and had eradi speed 2 pc. rotors on all 4 corners and cavilligio(cant spell!!)seats, and stock seats w/ only 1500 miles of seat time
Look on this forum you can do better. super low miles are not worth the extra $$ a car with 20k-30k will be just as fun and feel the same IMO

As stated above, I wouldnt pay the low mileage premium for something that you are going to drive and mod. I paid $17,500 for my 01 Speedway white Z with like 78k on it about a year ago.

Yea, seems like prices have gone up and guys with the low mileage ones are "out of control". I've been looking myself for a DD, just to give and example. 04' z16 Commemerative 106xxx miles (Love the car) but the guy won't move off $21k but if your looking on Ebay there was a black 02' 35xxxmiles for low $20s. Keep Looking that's to much, like another member said there's plenty of cars right here. As for as and 01' mine is
