Are We Invisible to High-Profile Vehicles?
I've almost been run off the road several times recently. In one instance, I was on the Interstate, headlights ON, doing 70 mph Are we that much lower that we can't be seen by SUV's and trucks?

I think it is difficult, I have followed a C5 in my Cherokee and they are a little more difficult to see, especially at night. What I hate is being on the road with all the jacked up, oil burning trucks out here in SLC. Their headlights are always blinding to anyone driving a Vette and invariably their exhaust pipe, which is usually 8 inches in diameter, is set at the height of the window on a C5

After witnessing several near-death experiences (no exaggeration) involving Corvettes and trucks while on the National Caravan last year, I would definately say yes, we are. For that reason I do my best to not linger in a truck's blind spots, but get past them as rapidly and safely as possible. Most of the near-misses I witnessed was simply because the trucker could not see a Corvette (or any car for that matter) in his blind spot. One incident however was obviously a trucker intentionally forcing a line of Corvettes into the center divider and he seemingly didn't care who he killed to accomplish that (again, no exaggeration).

Yes, apparently we drive invisible cars! Never assume the other driver sees you. They don't pay much attention on what's going on around them. I've had cars pull right out in front of me, just like I wasn't there. I pulled up along side of a Honda (which is a small car) at a stop light. My hood was about 5" lower than the Honda's hood. I learned along time ago not to pace along side of another car. It doesn't seem to matter what type of car they are driving, they will change lanes without looking. I'f you want to stay alive, drive defensively at all times. Just remember . . . on the road the Corvette is invisable to all, but the police. Drive Safe!

I should clarify that I had my lights on in broad daylight. This guy in the SUV was merging into my lane like I wasn't even there. He came up from behind me, so I don't know how he couldn't have seen me. I try to memorize what kind/color of car is in the lane/s next to me, so I know when it's safe to change lanes. Although, that's not always fool-proof either.
Knock on wood and praise God, I've never had an accident in my 49 years. Let's hope it stays that way

18-wheelers are a given. The Fast and the Furious? I'm thinking National Lampoon! LOL
I'm already a careful driver, I'll be extra vigilant now. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who seems to be invisible.

Yes, our cars are low and fast so one has to be careful about what positions we put ourselves in. As said, I've had people pull right over on me even though I was in their sights a second or two ago!! Amazing!
Mine being Pewter, it is the same color as concrete and many road surfaces, so I am extra observant and vigilant assuming I'm not even seen.....ready on the horn.

Not sure if I was invisible or if the driver in the F250 4x4 was just a little light on grey matter. This guy backed over my Vettes nose. When he realized he had gone into the intersection at a red light he pulled back and forgot to then put it into drive. Light changes and he gives it the gas, the bumper was about a foot from my windshield with him sitting on my front end when he stopped.

I drive my Vette like I drive my road bike (cyclist). That is like I'm invisibile. I expect people to not see me and always look for them to do the wrong thing.
I was riding my bike last week when a woman pulled out of her driveway in a minivan. She did not see me and I swerved to avoid her hitting me because I anticipated her not stopping. She then pulled up next to me at the light and gave me a dirtly look shaking her head. Amazing! What would her excuse have been if I was a 10-year kid who didn't anticipate her bonehead move?!

I have been in front of my vette in my excursion and f250 and you can't see it's there. The final proof was when my wife backed over my hood in her ford focus. When I cooled down and asked what she was thinking she siad she didn't know I was still behind her.She couldn't see me at all.
