z06 exhaust sound....

Was it oem Z06 exhaust (low restriction/part titanium) or an after market? You (probably) don't know.
Many after market exhausts systems will "pop" because of lower restriction/larger ID pipe. Sometimes, the noise stops/reduces with more use as the ID of the pipe becomes coated with carbon...

No poping ever on mine - perhaps the tune is a wee off
Does this Vette have an H-Pipe or X-Pipe? X-Pipe is better and if it has the factory H-Pipe I have heard of these aiding the poping sound -
X-Pipe usually eleminates this
Thanks,Matt

I have borla stingers on mine and I get the popping sound on deceleration (I actually kind of like it). Putting an X-Pipe on would help with/eliminate the noise. My guess is you heard a Z06 with and aftermarket cat-back.

On an aftermarket system a X-Pipe will solve it.

I was told that the popping on decel was a result of the exhaust configuration but also had to do with timing advance. ie: the more you advance the timing in the tune the more it will pop.
