Are all x pipes created equal. A new Borla is $250. The Corsa is $350. Money is an issue at the moment.

Pretty much!! If money is an issue,,and you are handy,,you can get just the generic X out of Summit or Jeg's for under $100( as I recall) . Just cut and clamp(or weld)!! Only down side to an X is when you are on decel,,as RPM's drop through around 12-13 hundred you get that old muscle car muffled rumble pop with the H pipe. I actually like the crackle sound and everything I've read says you lose most of it with the X!! Might want to look around for a used one,,I got a deal from a buddy that just put one on ,,and a little while later went full Kook's header, cats and X-pipe!!Got it like new,,for $150(Corsa)!!Just have to get around to doing an install as well!!

I'm either gonna get a Corsa or Borla X when I find a good deal on one. I like the idea of hearing it with the stock H first. That way I can hear what difference it makes.

I agree -- without the X-pipe it's a neat, classic sort of "burble" that I love and people compliment...

Cannot comment on the x-pipe...

Oh, and I get such an immature kick out of all the popping on decel. Closest this old guy will ever get to owning a racecar

I have the Corsa Touring system on my 2000,with the X-pipe the motor boat sound is completely gone, car sounds sooo much better with the X-pipe, deeper rumble at idle, great sound when getting on it. I highly recommend the X-pipe, to me worth the money.

I have the Corsa Pace car with the X-pipe. Installed them at the same time. Never had the motor boat sound. Love it at WOT.

WPLJ: great site on your Mag Red Coupe... Great Color!!

I'm just about "sold" on the Corsa Indy's Pro Tips (axle back)... Not worried 'bout sounding like a boat--heck--I live near the Ocean anyway!!!

My current ones are stock--I'm pretty sure that these will be a big improvement--right??

Found 'em as low as $1099, free ship also... sound good??

Default corsa

Hay guys new to the forum. I just picked up a super nice 2001 yellow c5 from my step dad. It has lt's, xpipe, high flow cats and pace car exhaust. I thin kit sounds amazing. It is cammed and other stuff to but it does have the motor boat sound at idle. At cruise iyou can;t even tell it has exhaust and when you ask for a bit more it is there. I think the pace sounds amazing. All around i think the best exhaust. I also have the corsa system on my 08 tundra and it is amazing. Sounds great when you want it to and when you don;t it is fairly quiet. Just my 2 cents.

I even dropped the H-pipe and cats to put in a new EE Tunnel plate but decided to put it back in and wait to do the X-pipe.
Hoping to find a used one at a good price.
With or without the X-pipe..... am I going to be motor boating at idle? is this just a Corsa sound on the LS motors?
x pipe will remove the idle sound as well as the wot scream

I have an 04 A4, I installed a Corsa Catback just after I got it and dealt with the Motorboat for some time, I just installed a Borla X pipe and in my opinion it quieted the idle a little, totally took the Motorboat sound away, Added a litttle "punch" under hard acceleration and I feel the WOT sound is still as awesome as ever.. It's just a matter of preference!!! Some like it some dont!!!! Do whatever YOU want!!

I drove my car with the Corsa Pace Cars for a year or more before I put the Corsa X pipe on it. It was not a big deal but I'll admit, it does indeed sound better at idle with the X pipe on. Put your Pace Cars on, enjoy and do the X pipe sometime in the future. ENJOY! Ron

I've got the Corsa pace cars with Daytona tips and yes it does sound like a motorboat at idle. I wish I'd gotten an x pipe at the time and I am thinking about buying one now but it doesn't bother me as much as it used to. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. Either that or the the tightwad in me is rationalizing.
