To hold the side bladders in place grab a pair of your wife's stockings, while she is not looking, and cut sleeves from them, it works great while you are assembling the seat foam and covers. Another trick to get the seat covers on easily, slip a plastic bag over the foam, the bags you get your cleaning back from the cleaner, the cover will slip on super easy and the bag is so thin it does not make any difference on the fit.

These are the same thing as the one tube ADC, just not branded. $5.09 each either size.

Bladders won't inflate for lumbar or seat sides...
I have this same issue with my 99 C5. How do you check to make sure the bladder pump isn't the issue versus the bladders themselves?
I've done some searching on the net on Google and other C5 forums and I've yet to see anyone post that the pump was bad, it was always the bladders that failed.
But it would be good to know how just in case the bladders aren't the culprit and the pump is. I've got the 99 C5 service manuals (all three of them) as well, but reading that is like Greek!
Thanks to REDEVIL for the DIY...i'm close to you, just up in Whittier, CA if you want to come help!
Thanks for any tips.

I already ordered four of the adult bags, and four of the child replacement bags that Kehraus posted links to. That came to $51 with shipping. I'll be heading down to Home Depot or the local parts store for the 3/16" inline couplers as soon as the bags show up.
Once I fix this on the 99 I am done with this car, and my wife can take over the maintenance. But I plan to parlay this fix into a little something extra one night.
Thanks very much to REDEVIL, Kehrais and the members here for their help. You all rock!

Also, you should be able to feel air coming from the hose if you unhook them from the bladders. If no air is coming out then you have a problem with the pump. I haven't heard of too many issues with the pumps themselves, usually the culprit is the connection between the bladders and the air lines.

I heard the pump whirring when I moved the toggle switches for the lumbar support on both seats. It's louder on the passenger side, but my guess is that those hoses haven't been duct taped down like the driver's side.
My new cuffs/bladders are supposed to be here this week I just found out, so my plan is to hook them up to the old hoses first, make sure they inflate/deflate, then duct tape or velcro them back in, whichever is easier to do.

Looks like my passenger seat motor/pump are pumping out more air than my driver's seat on the 99 C5.
Anyone have a sport seat lumbar motor part #, or instructions/diagrams on how to rebuild/repair the lumbar pump motor?
Thanks in advance!

So all bladders can now be replaced in both seats for about $52!

Holy crap that's awesome.
Always enjoy seeing someone think outside of the box and find a product that works in a purpose not intended for it, for a fraction of the price of a "specialty" product.
Major kudos to you sir. My upper lumbar hasn't worked since I bought the car... I might have to steal your idea

I used these same exact pieces (4 per seat) and held them in place with double sided tape (installed seat heaters at the same time also).
The are the LARGE bladders. All 8 (both seats) cost me $60 shipped.
They inflate MUCH better than the stock plastic bags and they are MUCH more durable since they are made out of a rubber type material.
Get ALL 4 LARGE. I tried the next size down for the wings of the seat and they were too small! JUST MY .02
