This thing DOES have a heater!
I know the winter driving thing has been done to death, but today I just could not resist! I'm in Fargo, ND and put 100 miles on my c5 today. It was just so nice and sunny even though the temp was barely 5 degrees. Most major roads were ice and snow free, so I disconnected my battery tender, took the cover off, fired her up, rolled her off the astroturf pads and had at it. I've only had my car for 4 months and had resigned myself to wait unitil spring, but damn...This car DEMANDS to be driven! I just may go for spin again tomorrow!

Just be careful with the loud pedal. If you have performance "summer" tires - they don't like the cold. The engine loves the cold air and you probably pick up a few H.P. so don't overpower those tires. Having said that: drive it and enjoy it.

Glad to hear you got her out for a spin! Snow here so mine will stay in for a few more days. It has only been four days since I had her out but I am going nuts. Don't know how you guys go months!

The heater works great in the C5. I lke how fast the LS1 warms up.
It was in the teens here yesteray & I decided to take my neglected C2 to the clubs tech session at Benchmark Restoration in Lindenhurst (thanks Chris T). The heat does work in the convertible C2 but it would have been alot more toasty in the C5.
II think today is the C5's turn. Teens here again today.
I'm actually using the C5 more than my DD to go to work when it's nice and dry out because it heats up alot quicker.

The 1999 likes the cold... Only reason, like you, I avoid taking it out is the snow, ice, and salt. Too much snow here in Pittsburgh to take her out today, but it won't belong.

Welcome to the club!!!!I've been preaching since I've been here,,if it's not nasty,,I'll drive it!! The heaters and defrosters work GREAT in these cars!!! Like you I don't have to drive it,,,,but I NEED to drive it!! More cleaning involved,,but mine is pewter,,so she does hide some of the road spray. Fortunately the St.Louis area gets a little better winter weather than you get,,,so ENJOY it when you can!!!

We use one of our C5's straight through the winter unless there's snow or ice on the roads and the heater is adequate but I have to say the heater in my '08 Hummer H3 is many times better and heats up much faster than the one in the C5 despite the much larger volume it has to heat. Still, the C5 is not bad.

agreed, the heater is great, so is the A/C in the summer. My car really enjoys the colder weather, really gets up and goes when it gets cooler in the summer.
