GS Fender Stripes
I was over on the National Corvette Museum's web site and was looking at the new C6's waiting for pickup. The last one (#8) is a red GS with the fender stripes. I have been thinking of adding stripes on mine 01 Torch Red coupe, and these look great.
I captured the picture and the contacted Vettesttripes. I know they work and they are highly regarded as a class vendor. He wrote back and said he could do about any color. He suggests one and is going to send me a sample. If anyone would look at the museum web site and the web cams and tell me if you also think that it is a good combo, I would greatly appreciate it.
I don't know why I asked for you to go to the NCM web, when I have a picture of the car. Here it is.

Just pick what you think would look good. If you don't like what you get, take it off and try something different. I thought red would look good on MSG so that's what I got.

What color is your interior? On a red car, maybe go with blue stripes with a white edge?
I went with black.
I went with black.

Heres mine.... old and new
I made them myself from material I bought at autozone. They looked great for about a month and would start to rise. I eventually took them off and went with gloss black vinyl. Works great!

I think that color combo would look good on your TR car. My only advice is to maybe have narrower stripes than that shown in the pic - it just looks better on the C5 IMO.

I ordered a set of red stripes for my black convertible, but before I put them on... if I don't like them and decide to take them off, is it going to leave any residue or lines on my finish, my paint is darn near perfect right now and I don't want to risk hurting it.

I have my new stripes, just have not put them on yet. I ordered mine from VetteStripes. Where did you get yours from? I believe that they can be removed with the use of a heat gun or hair dryer. As for leaving any lines, I would think that if your paint starts to fade from not taking care of it, there would be a difference in the color that was under the stripe. I would check with your stripe supplier.

I didn't realize the new factory GS stripes had a different thickness between the two stripes. I don't think I like that. Was it like that on the 96 GS or original racecars with the same style stripes?

You just do the left side not both and no the 96 GS had stripes that were equal width.
