DMH Cut Out Install Complete
First, Thanks to Patches and WKMCD for their assistance planning for the installation!
The cut outs were wielded under the transmission by an exhaust shop in Stafford VA just before I headed out on a road trip from NOVA to North Carolina. Unfortunately, due to the 18 inches of snow we got (this was back in December) I could not get the wiring in place before I left. The complete wielding time at the shop was 1-1.5 hours, and he did a great install.
Vette on Jack Stands:
Cut Outs Closed:
After I got to NC, I got down to business, after pulling the interior, of course the hardest part was pulling the shifter **** off, but two flat head screw drivers did the trick. I ran the wires down through the cabin, above the tunnel plate and they popped out just above the transmission. While I was in there I added some heat insulation.
Mid way through wiring:
Wiring after Heat Insulation
I connected the power source of the cut outs to the hot on startup wire (if my memory is any good its the orange wire) and the ground (black wire) beneath the passenger carpeting (sorry, no pic for that one, didn't occur to me). I used a crush washed to connect the wires together. After everything was connected up, I turned the key and opened the cut outs - well I tried to but nothing worked!!!!! Ooops - After sweating for a minute, I rechecked the connections and then everything worked beautifully.
Back Together:
Right Cut Out Open:
The past three weeks have been a blast. I have a mild cam, and I absolutely love the sound of the V8. No noise violations yet
This forum is an amazing resource, thanks everyone!!

Nice install - bet the car sounds great when the cutouts are open.

Awesome work and job well done!
Question to anyone who has had these for a while:
Do these ever loose their seal when they are closed and leak? and if so do they have a seal replacement for them?
I love these ones and the location, future mod for me!
Thanks,Matt

Responses and Thanks
Looks familiar.
Did Robert's do them?
Yes, sure did!
do you have an open and closed clip ?
I don't now, but I will post one when I get it.
I want a set of these too!!! How did you setup the switch? Can you open one at a time, or just both?
Great looking job! Thanks for sharing.
What do you mean set up the switch? Currently both sides are in sync with each other. Both sides are in sync with each other, but you could partially open them.
