Seat track repair shims
i received a email today from one of the corvette catalogs about seat track repair shims set for sale and it repairs a common problem with c5 seats does anyone know what the problem is because I have a problem with my seats, When I brake both seats slide about one inch, is that what they are talking about?

it's more like a 1/4" i just did the repair myself its a piece of cake. the only thing i would change is the big T25 is hard to get out using the method in the instructions. channel locks work much better.

It is a simple rubber piece that holds the main bolt's nut in position. After time it wears out and there is play. You fix it by replacing the rubber with something stronger to take up the space, whether it is nylon washers, metal washers, or the seat fixes from companies (way overpriced).
I have done the fix once and used nylon washers and plan on re-doing it with metal washers or possibly welding it together. I hate any play and there is still a small amount front to back and a bunch side to side I need to address.

Not a lot of work. It was simpler than most things I've done. Even easier than replacing the plugs and wires. Like the write up says you'll prolly find more than enough change to cover the cost of the nylon washers.

I agree with the earlier post. Go with nylon washers as described or if you have the tools to sand down metal, go with metal washers.
