Not so much when I wash my Vette, but more often standard garage comments. I must admit that my garage is pretty cool; i.e. 3 car space, high ceilings, four speaker stereo system, Gladiator cabinets/workbenches, epoxy floor and rolled carpet mats. Plus, I've added a bunch of Corvette posters, signs and have over 100 diecast models on display. Since I live in Florida - the land without basements, most of my neighbors use their garage as their remote storage facility and park their cars outside on the driveway.
So, I get a lot of "your garage is cleaner than my house" comments or "Quick, get the shop vac! I see some dirt!", etc.
It's all good-natured I guess and comes with the territory of owning a Corvette or just being into cars in general.
...wait until I add a C6Z stable mate and a four post lift!

Nope,,older neighborhood,,bigger lots and most are older folks that don't care about cars. Got a few nice comments when I brought her home,,and that's about it!

Most are just being friendly and making conversation. If these types of little things bother you, I can't imagine what your bigger problems do to you.
Corvette's or any fancy type car/garage gets attention, deal with it the best you can. I enjoy sharing the experience with others myself.

I don't have any neighbors. I live out in the woods on a Lake and only see people when I invite them. The closest house is two miles away.

Yep and then there is the comment "when your done with yours my car needs a cleaning". I usually ignore them and just smile. Too bad we can't choose our neighbors. There are a few car and bike guys in the neighborhood so I'm not the only one cleaning and tinkering.

Thankfully my neighbors pretty much leave me alone when I'm messing with the car - lets me get done faster.

Yep I got one of those too. He drives a crusty Hyundai, and his favorite line is "you're gonna rub the paint off that thing" and of course "you can wash mine for me when you're done with yours".

MY next door neighbor owns a meticulous C5. A rare situation that there are two Corvettes next to each other, we both race and both use Zaino.... Who would have ever guessed this guy would move in next to me a couple years ago...

That would be nice to have a neighbor like that My neighbor does have a 73 vert he purchased new but only gets it out a couple times a year!!! says he does not want to hurt the value of it by driving it and putting on more miles !!!?? I have told him for years hes hurting the vette more by letting it set in the garage its only got 16,000 miles on it.

A coupe months back I was claying, waxing my car at 3am.
It's hot in Atlanta, and I was on a Budweiser/work binge that night.
A late '30s housewife was driving in from who knows where and stopped for a conversation. After the initial chat, she asked me where my wife was... She wanted to get it on!!! (my beautiful wife was sound asleep upstairs and I had a 2 week old son at the time) so..... Needless to say I didn't acknowledge (moved past) her advances.
-More BEER!!!! Felt good though knowing I "could have."

My neighbors always state the following:"Man you rub on that car all of the time." To which I reply: "Mama perfers it that way."
