Thanks,
The right way to do it is pull the dash cover off. It's a couple of hour job.

Are you serious you have to go to this trouble just to change the flasher plug in? It isn't in or near the fuse box?
The C5 doesn't have the style that plugs in like this?

If you mean the turn signal multi-function switch, there is a post. A new switch will run from $150-$200. Have you checked the fuse located in the passanger footwell fuse block?

I'm dead serious. The switch is located behind the hazard switch and access is tough.

I've heard of guys using a hammer and srewdriver to knock it out but I'm not sure I would chance it for fear of breaking the retaining clip.

Me and the Bro did it in a couple of hours taking our time. Just cover up the steering wheel so that you don't scratch it up removing the dash pad.

GM did this on many of their cars that were produced since the early 2000's.

The flasher is built in the hazard switch...... You DO NOT have to remove the dash pad to replace it....You DO have to remove the center console, radio and HVAC controls....It's time consuming...Do a search.....There's a thread on it

Just wondering, couldn't you just get a flasher bypass harness?

The right way is to remove the dash pad, Once you have all of the other stuff off (What You Listed Above), it's really not that bad.. ..

Pull the "A" Pilliars, (2) 7mm Screws on the side, (2)T15 dash pad gauges area, (2) Under center defrost grill, A couple around radio steel frame.

Lift off dash pad and disconnect harness for flasher and bulb in the defroster area.

Best solution is the bi-pass cable from Richard @

www.corvette-enhancements.com or 1-800-946-4929

About 20 minutes and $60 and your turn signal issues will be GONE. I've had one on my 2000 vert for about 2 years. Lots of individuals here have used them. I'm not associated with this company in any way other than being a very pleased customer with working turn signals Ron

Would be a much easier, and cheaper, alternative. I just installed one of these on mine as I bought the LED halo taillights -takes about 1/2 hour if you just take your time.

Default Where to use?

On Ebay I found a 3 pin electronic led flasher to eliminate the hyperflash....where exactly does it plug in if I decide to purchase it? It seems to be cheaper than other bypasses....

That's the thing... the flasher is integrated into the hazard switch on the C5. It's not a 'plug and play' thing with the flasher, which is why there are 'kits' that include the GM specific plugs that allow you to plug it in rather than hack up your wiring harness.

There is a guy that did what you are looking to do. He bought the flasher and then cut the factory wiring harness under the steering column and connected it to the flasher. More info here:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/1569256474-post64.html

So the reason that the 'other' flasher that you found is cheaper is because it's just a flasher. The one posted earlier uses a harness made with the GM specific plugs, and those aren't necessarily cheap. So flasher + materials + time = $60

If you are a handy kind of guy and don't mind cutting into your wiring harness, you can do exactly what you are looking to do, no problem.

I hope this helps.

Ah...too bad. was hoping the cheaper fix would work. I'm a bit nervous to try the splice thing, but if it's cheaper than the $70 harnesses I see then...ya....I'm putting the switchbacks in next week I guess I'll see how bad the hyperflash bothers me
