Gotta love the verts. I will someday get a Z06, but will never be without a vert. As you can see by my pic I am partial to them.

I drove a C4 coupe for a couple years and when I went to a C5 I just knew it had to be a vert. Probably has something to do with our 300+ sunny days a year in AZ but I just love the look and feel of the vert.

This was and is still the endless argument I have with my friends that have Z06"s...it was MUCH cheaper for me to mod the Vert to be faster than a Z06 compared to chopping the top and turning it into a Vert.

Is the goal of the Z06 just to be faster than a vert/coupe?

Only 2 things I don`t like about the vert, one for 1/4 mile tracks you need a roll bar if to fast and kinda minor but it`s almost always bright sunshine in so cal and you need sunglasses but the problem is after hours in the vert with sunglasses, you take them off and you look like a racoon !

Your car reminds me of how my car used to look - black with a black top and chrome wagon wheels.

My wife always loved the bling of the wagon wheels, I liked them too - but I wanted a more updated look.

Point is - Corvette convertibles are the ultimate cruisers. In fact - I liked my C5 Convertible so much - I bought a second, also with wagon wheels!

Drive what you like - and may you have miles and miles of smiles with your car!

Personal choice, I know, but I wouldn't have bought a Vette if it wasn't a vert. Then again I don't track it, just enjoy top down cruising. Your Z06 was a nice looking car but I really like your new one.

Come again...

When I went with my '03 Z it was about much more than speed. I really liked the heritage of the "Z06". I liked that I could buy the car and not have to do any mods (well, I did get the wheels powder coated and do the vararam)... I liked the higher redline, but mostly that "405" badge.

I've got a Zo6 and I've thought to myself that a roadster would be my only other choice...

One thing about the Z is that more than just the extra horsepower, the transmission gearing makes the personality different than regular C5s... I would miss that.

I have a ZO6 and cut the top off for a Targa. Fun to drive.

I also have a C6 Convertible - it's also fun, but a different personality and ride.

All Corvettes are fun.

Previously, I had both an 03 AE convertible and an 04 Z06. The Z06 is unquestionably a great car, but the 03 vert is the one that I still have. The open air meant more to me than the extra performance. BTW, I do also like the chrome wagon wheels, they are not nearly as common as the thin spokes.

Welcome BACK!! Your new vert looks real nice

I think the Z06 is the best looking vette with the top up (EZ call), but once you take the top down on the vert, it looks close (if not better....and way FUN to drive)
