Default Who do you trust in Southern California?

So there I was, about to back out from my garage when I suffered the dreaded SERVICE COLUMN LOCK message. I have read the stickies and just about everything else I could find on the topic. I had the warranty work done on my MN6 in 2005. The local dealer said now I will have to pay for any related repair.

I will probably go with the CLB this time but with whom can I trust my Corvette in So Cal? I don't think a dealer will install a CLB and Corvette Mike's seemed unfamiliar with CLBs when I called.

Thanks

My friend,

You begin by trusting no one (not even yourself, for we are all corrupt) except God. Having said that, you gain and grant limited trust to those who only speak truth, once they deviate, it`s time to seperate yourself. You yourself must be able to discern what truth is, especially as the shadow of the final day grows increasingly longer. This comes by the grace of wisdom, given by God to whom He chooses.

So much for that, trust someone who owns or works on Vettes, prefer someone who is C5 owner been there done that kinda thing. Or if going to a professional mechanic, someone who works C5`s and provides a written quarantee.

I am confused, you mention a 2005 which is a C6, if so, why post in C5?

Good luck,

Les

The recall was done on my 99 years ago. It locked up 6 mos. ago and I had it towed to my regular mekkanic--Golden Wrench Automotive in Lake Forest.
I purchased the CLB from Corvettes of Houston and it comes with installation instructions--pretty simple really.
The hard part was unlocking the column which they did no sweat. The CLB installs under the passenger side footwell floormat.
Get the CLB done NOW. You don't want it to lock up.

In my case, I use a dealer in Montclair whom I trust. They've not once ever lied to me or racked up extra charges. If you wish, PM to me and I'll provide their name.
