It's like a modern day "tank sticker!"

I look forward to getting mine outta there someday as a project with my son. I'm going to wait for him to get older (he's only a month old) so it makes an impression on his memory.

Doh I wish I would have known this about 3 months ago. Had the front bumper repainted. The guys at the shop didn’t say anything so mine might not be there. Looks like it’s blatantly obvious if it were there though. They did say that the bumper has been repainted before so maybe the person before found it.

Is there any way to get at it without taking the front facia off?

Maybe you can turn your car upside down and shake it.

Are they normally in good shape? For those of us who drive in rain, is it water damaged?

Im so confused, is there really a build sheet left in our cars, and what exactly does it look like, anyone have a picture of it?

Yup, it will most likely be there. It is a printout from a dot-matrix printer. There are plenty of other threads somewhere here showing exactly where it is, but it's in the front left "frame" member.

It's probably still legible, even if you drive in the rain.

Still much simpler to get an original copy from the corvette museum, they'll even laminate it for you plus give you a printout of what it means!

I'd rather frame my 'rough' build sheet on the wall than a pristine copy.(just my .02)

Nothing beats the original

I usually remove the front cover and inspect the frame/wiring/condition of all parts unseen when buying a used C5, you never know what these cars have been through; working as a WG-12 or E-5 has not paid enough to justify the 40-55k on a new C5/6
