Doh I wish I would have known this about 3 months ago. Had the front bumper repainted. The guys at the shop didn’t say anything so mine might not be there. Looks like it’s blatantly obvious if it were there though. They did say that the bumper has been repainted before so maybe the person before found it.

Yup, it will most likely be there. It is a printout from a dot-matrix printer. There are plenty of other threads somewhere here showing exactly where it is, but it's in the front left "frame" member.
It's probably still legible, even if you drive in the rain.

Nothing beats the original
I usually remove the front cover and inspect the frame/wiring/condition of all parts unseen when buying a used C5, you never know what these cars have been through; working as a WG-12 or E-5 has not paid enough to justify the 40-55k on a new C5/6
