Default Looking for a LS6 intake manifold to suit 2002 C5

Guys, I had my "baby" dyno tuned yesterday in Dallas, what a difference. The tuner told me that to smooth out the very top end and to compliment the VaraRam VR-B2 intake system I should fit an LS6 intake manifold. My engine is stock LS1.
I have checked the for sale section, didn't see one. Am looking for a realistically priced one.
Any suggestions or companies I could talk too?

Thanks

The LS6 intake manifold was fitted to the 2002 LS1 so you already have it.

ALL 01/later C5s used the same intake manifold.

This is a good upgrade for 97-00 cars...but as Patches stated, your 02 already has it.

If that's the case, I wonder what was the tech referring to then?

Thanks, Tim

Perhaps the tech doesn't have a clue.

You may want to find another shop for the future.

A good tuner would have known that.

I will be visiting the tuner tomorrow to pick up the before and after data sheets to see what the actual increases and changes were and seeking resolution on this issue. These guys are well known in Dallas....
Before I go "damning" any body I need to double check my memory retention etc. with them.
Alex is right it is serious $$ and I don't appreciate someone trying to shove a pineapple where the sun don't shine.
I appreciate your comments, experience and knowledge.
Thanks guys, Tim

Guys, I went and saw the tuner today, discussed the LS6 manifold etc. He agreed with your comments, showed me the performance curves before and after, and was very open and detailed in his discussions.
Seems like a genuine mistake in communication.

The up side is I have learnt much and my vette is running so much nicer

Thanks guys for your help

I would use a different tuner as this is pretty much common knowledge in all LS1 circles!

You could upgrade to a FAST 92mm intake and throttle body as an upgrade from stock. You could then sell your LS6 intake to offset some of the cost. LS6 intakes still get a decent price in the for sale section. Anyone with a 97 -00 would benefit from this upgrade, even some of the f-body guys who have eliminated there EGR.

maybe he meant you should have your LS6 intake ported for a little improved air flow...

I will look into the FAST92 options, thanks.
Yes, a different tuner will indeed be in the future. When I get the next round of "goodies" for the vette.

It seems the guy that tuned your car really didn't have a clue about C5 Vettes, I would be leary of the tune after hearing he told you to get a LS6 intake seeing the later C5s have them already.

Dont be so quick to judge guys, could have been an honest mistake, tuners tune many many cars

If everytime i or any other reputable tuner said something incorrect meant we were incompetant, then there would be no good tuners at all

unless he upgrades heads and cam, I don't think it's worth it to go to a FAST intake over the ls6. If you're going full heads and cam upgrade, then yeah, throw on a FAST. On a stock car that already has an ls6, I think it's a waste of money.

I am not upset with the tuner or the company he works for. They have treated me very well. I do believe it was an honest mistake, trust me, I am not one to "be nice" for the sake of it.

I also appreciate the comments from still-asleep. I will have my tune re-checked by another tuner here in Dallas any recommendations?
In a forum search I see that 21st Century Muscle Cars has many recommendations and great write ups..
