Had a gazillion Corvettes at Talladega this weekend
We ran 2,400 laps on the track Saturday, and boy, are my feet tired!
176 down the back stretch was the top speed for the day. Mark did this in his 08 Vette with an LS3. here, I am cruising about 110 through the tri-oval giving rides to the volunteers late in the afternoon.

"A gazillion corvetes" is the reason I decided not to go. I do want to drive on the track, but I don't want to be in the middle of a sea of other cars.
Glad you had fun though

We limited the sessions to 15 cars on the track at once, which gave you about 1/8 mile buffer front and back unless you were trying to do something you weren't.

A big thanks to Curby and all involved with making this happen!
What a great time, well worth the 1000+ mile round trip to participate.
Words can not explain this day, however a few photo's may help:
The hotel parking lot became "vette parking only"
There was quite an impressive line up at the gates by 8:00a.m.
Use of the garage area and the goodyear building with AC was a big plus. The cars and wives could "chill" between runs.
Pulling onto pit road at this legendary track was incredible.
Astoundingly enough, my V1 radar detector never went off one time.
This should give those who have not had the pleasure an idea of what 33 degree banking is like. The wife was totally freaking out at 112mph in turn 2!
A smooth 123mph coming out of turn 4 with the top down in a stock 99 vert. Nothing like a little Alabama breeze in your hair.
Patience paid off for those who stayed or showed up later, not much of a line at all for my final 10 laps.
Can't wait to hang this picture on my wall.
Quote of The Day:
"I think you are going to have to do the next 15 laps alone" -Wife
Priceless.
Thanks again Curby!

For an event like that they give you LOTS of space between cars. Passing probably not permitted. There is no way they would want any car near able to touch another one for liability. Just a fun time with your individual car on the track. Not like they would set up a hundred cars like a marathon race and let them all go at it. One car at a time with space between.

Wish I would have been able to make it. Sounds like an awesome time for everyone. Great pictures! Hopefully next year!
