What was the cost for a fun day like that?

4 years ago when I went for my Richard Petty driving experience I had one big surprise. The track was damp. They put us in our personal cars to dry the track. We followed their vehicals at 75 mph. We did 20 laps to dry the track. I always liked Lowes Motor Speedway in Charlotte, but I like it better now.

looks like a good time. I've done Bristol twice, once in my 84 and once in my 04.

Man oh man, it gives me cold chills to think about getting to drive on the track like you folks did. One of the coolest things I have ever heard of. Way to go and great shots and I really liked the quote about doing the next 15 laps alone.

This is the best way to do it. Give yourself about 1/8 mile of space. The safety crew runs the show. They allowed 15 cars per session. No passing. No laying back to speed. No driving in the outside lane. No exceeding the pace speed of 90.

As you can see, it is easy to get more speed, but you have to be careful about it. If you raced up to the guy in front of you and slammed on your brakes, they would pull you off the track.

They stopped 3 or 4 sessions for warnings. They threw a complete group off the track.

They told me no arguing and no second chances. They meant it.

It was the first year for this, and I hope we can do it again next year. I will let you guys know.

We charged $35 for one 5-lap session or $25 per session for multiple sessions pre-registration and $40.$30 the day of the event. One guy bought 15 sessions.
