Default hot or cold?

I searched but couldn't find the answer. when I change the trans and diff fluid, is it best to go for a drive first?

I always do it while the car is cold. This way you make sure all the fluid has dripped off of component parts and you get all of it out.

Change it when it's cold and all the fluid is at the bottom of the trans.
