Extended Warranty
Need some advice..My GM Majorguard Warranty expired, and I'm looking at replacing it with CarChex extended warranty..Does anyone have experience with this company, or could recommend one.

Sorry, never heard of them. I would recommend Warranty Direct, but I don't think they will cover a Z06. You could check though.

Why didn't you buy a GMPP extendrd warranty? Dennis Fichtner is the best person to talk to about a warranty. I bought my extended warranty from him, cost 1/3 of anyone else even remotely close in coverage. WD wanted four times the upfront cost, you have to drive the 1000 miles before the warranty goes into effect, and it doesn't cover so much you'd need to be a lawyer to just read what it does cover. If you can't get a GMPP coverage, skip the thing altogether.

Why don't you take the money you will spend on the extended warranty, put it in a money market account, add a few bucks to it every paycheck, and insure it yourself. This way if something does break that costs a grand or two.....you have the money. If nothing ever happens.....you have the money. Statistics show that extended warranties are a waste of money, for the buyer that is. Just my $.02.

Elite Warranty Inc. still writes C5's. They're in UT at 801.489.7288 or 800.434.5766. I got mine through a dealer up the street. Paid $1,495 for 2 years "Premium" coverage, no waiting period, and it covers everything I'm concerned might break.
