Default Interior Suggestions - Yellow

I only recently became a Corvette owner and purchased a MY 01.

I want to start dressing up the interior, but find the Yellow combination can become annoyingly bright. I want to "tastefully" add some simple accents here and there.

I would love to see some photos of Yellow and black interiors for ideas.

Thanks

I have the same issue with my car. What exactly are you looking to do? The interior panels? Seats? Lighting? I have an all black interior and decided I will keep it that way, and when I do my upgrades to the interior I will keep it that way. I originally though a two tone yellow and black interior would look good but, I think keeping it looking somewhat stock will do better. I think some black CF interior and reupholstery would look so much better.

I just want some Yellow accents. I dont want to over do it with the Yellow color. To me, too much Yellow reminds me of a scuba outfit or something nautical.

I just want to bring some of the exterior color inside. Possibly yellow corvette dash letters, door pulls and that little strip of curved yellow near the center console armrest that looks like piping.

Yea its tough. I bought a 2 tone shift boot black/yellow and I never installed it because it looked tacky IMO...seemed like a good idea at the time. Recently in my search for some items I picked up these pieces... made by redline

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-p...or-pieces.html

not sure if you can see the pics but after seeing this I was like yup this more my style...

I like that. I cant afford the seats right now, but eventually. I like the armrest and piping around the traction control as well as the door handles.

Let me ask: Were the door handles hard to install? Do the armrest pads just stick on?

Why not choose another accent color, like gray? It's almost impossible to make yellow accents look tasteful.

I havent received the items yet nor will i install them until I return from Iraq. The seller says the pieces go in 30 min max and if I understand what you mean about the armrest yes. the door handles are a wrap going over the exsisiting handle ..not sure how at this point till I see them... Seats are going to be the next interior..righ tnow Im working on the CE LED lights/black cherries and replacing all other exterior lights with LED's

If you have photos, I will surely consider another color.

I thought about going with an all black/charcoal grey interior. I have a couple accents now but I have some leather seat covers waiting for install that brought a whole bunch of yellow to the interior. Search for a thread called "Surprise Seat Covers"

I don't have any pics readily available, however I've seen a couple interiors where they mixed regular black with the carbon fiber black for a two-tone black look. IMO it looked very nice and didn't jump out as yellow or red trim would.

I personally like the two tone black/yellow look and I don't think it's too much.

This looks really nice! One question...How does the black "carbon fiber" pattern leather hold up in the areas where creases form? The reason for my question is that I saw a Vette at a recent show with a carbon fiber look shift boot. It seemed as though there were crease lines because the leather was really hard and tough. I don't think it was a VE shift boot as the owner had some other off-market trim components.

Thanks!

the fit and finish and overall feel of the Vette Essentials products are second to none and the quality is light years ahead of the stock stuff or anything else I have seen from other venders, and they have the best customer service ever, really great people. they are great with helping design your seats and interior.

Look on the Vette Essentials web site - I'd bet there are some pics of yellow cars there and you can get some great ideas for your interior.

I was thinking about jus purchasing the yellow insert for the steering wheel, the yellow dash passenger letters, and the traction control insert piece.

That would splash just a bit of yellow around the car interior equally and give me an idea of how to proceed. I like the door insert handles too but not sure if I want to spend 200 bucks for replacements or try the covers for 22.00.

Can anyone post of picture of the covers rather than the actual replacements.

Do they look good, are they tight etc?
