Just installed my Z06 Screen set and Exhaust plate,............my girl wants to drive it to the store with her sister. She comes back and mentions that she may have touched the front end going over a large pothole. This is what I find......not happy




Also check out the rust on my exhaust tips in the new exhaust surround..........is the only fix,.... new tips ? Or will naval jelly do the trick ?

Try some never dull on the rust and follow up with a good polish.

Not to make you feel any worse but, man, she did tear up your front fascia!

AFA the tips, I would remove your whole catbacck setup and repaint the mufflers with high-temp black paint while I was fixing those rust spots or mounting tips over them, but, that's just me.

I would check the rocker panels too. I can't blame you for letting people you care about drive your car. I used to let my girl drive mine alot. Now my frame rails in front look like yours and rocker panel is cracked. I guess you learn the hard way.

If hitting a pothole, which I doubt, did that, you better be looking for other damage to the wheel assembly. Good luck with the repair.

Pothole my ***, she must have run it into a ditch. Thats why my wife does not drive or even ask to drive my vettes. She knows how **** I am with them.

The front end is deceiving long as we all know. It's not surprising if she rode up over the curb while parking. Was no doubt afraid to tell you. Simply an accident. Might be time to consider swapping out the exhaust for some Z06 Ti, nicer look IMO and can be had for a decent price used, plus some weight savings. Good Luck

with the others. looks like she got too close to one of those bump stops in parking lots. Easy to do in the vette if you're not used to it.

at least she told you.....it could be worse....if your car is lowered that won't be the last time it happens...if not it still won't be the last time it happens. At any rate....its done now...move on.

My girlfriend drives my 99 and my 07Z06...if sh** happens and it will sooner or later oh well...fix it and move on. Hell it seems like everytime I drive her 02 I manage to run over some unavoidable crap in the road

I was always and still am worried about my 99 to a degree...when I bought the 07 I vowed to enjoy it and not be so so far I think I have done that.

Yeah the damage sucks but there is always worse things that could be going on in your life.

Sorry about your car. I agree with the others, That wasn't a pothole, It looks like she drove into one of those concrete tire stops at the store. No way a poyhole did that, In my opinion not only did she wreck your car she lied to you.....
