Keep the $$$ separate and share the bills. We've been doing that for 15 years. It's nice when arguments come and go, but none are ever about money or what we spend it on (as long as the bills are paid).

Forty three years ago I restored a '56 C1. My wife whined about it all the time and it was loud, hot, drafty, rough riding, etc.
Three weeks after I finished the car, someone stole it. I really miss that car. I still don't miss the ex-wife.

^^Wife and I have done the same, and with regards to money issues have had no problems.
However, my wife is none to fond of my corvette hobby. I think it is because of the time I spend doing it. She has ridden in some of my vettes and liked it a lot.

After I completed my interior mods, Caravaggios and all, she looked inside and said "What on earth did that cost??" I handed her 800.00 and told her to have a good time shopping.
She was happy and it only cost me an additional 8%
I think of it as happy tax. LOL

Yes, my wife gets frustrated with me and my car obsession. To her a car is just transportation - she doesn't understand why they mean so much to some people (like me).

Great posts back to me gang,i love my wife.one more thing why are some guys surprised at the 100.00 oil change vail chevrolet harrison n.y. I would think a hundred is about what must vette owners are paying they charged me 9.00 buucks a quart for mobil one....what am i gonna do crawl around on the ground get up dizzy pebbles all over me rocks in my hair mid america fleece jacket all stained up oil all over everything garbage can full of cans finding a drain can for the used oil missing my favorite t. V. Show pulling out a crisp ben franklin is so much easier.......

Mine is pro vette along side me. As long as i make 3 times what she does and pay most of the house bills she does not care what I spend my money on. She just bought a 76 Jeep but has talked me into most of the fix up on it so my vette change went down a bit ,but as long as the money is there she lets me spend it.

My wife has very little tolerance for my car hobby. She like for ppl to see us in the vette but that's all she likes about it. Like most of you guys we each have our own money, works out great(for me anyway).She pays no bills of any kind and spends her money on what she wants , then b#*ches at me whenever I spend a dime on my car(s).Great marriage other than that.

our son John is a cannon exc and hates going fast in anything 
raised the same way go figure ,,,,, My wife Alice is just great about my vette and hobbies worked hard our whole life's now its our time to enjoy the fruits of our labor kids are grown now it's our time to think about what we enjoy life is short ,enjoy it why you can im lucky to share it with one fantastic gal
