... I believe it is.. I was on the fence with what tire to get and rarely did I heard any complaints about the PS2's.. got a set and WOW what a difference over the tires I had.. granted at the same time i ditched the heavy chrome aftermarket wheels and put the stock wheels back on...
the change was very noticeable.. steering was much lighter and grip is improved.. the only question remains is the longevity.. we'll see..
the down side so far is the $$..

I like michelin tires they last a long time, depending on how you drive that is, any tire will disapear quickly if you drive them like there is no tommorrow.
I have been seriously thinking going to PS2's when I need tires, I think they are worth the extra bucks.

My 4 PS-2s were $1495. They lasted 17,000 street miles, and in temperatures below 50 degrees have almost no traction. I just replaced them with 4 new NT-05s for $932. The Michelins have a UTOG of 220, and the Nittos 200. The NT-05s are plenty sticky (I can use first gear). I'll let you know how long they last

There's a reason they come as OEM tires on several high performance cars that cost a lot more than z06's.
They're just great tires for all kinds of performance racing...and they last a long time (relatively) and are quiet. They're also not shabby in the rain either.

I have had my PS2's on my 02 for ~29K and they still have a good bit a tread (another 5K if driven fairly conservatively). I drive fairly aggressive but I don't burn the tires from stoplights on a regular basis. I do have one awesome track day on them at Miller Motorsports though and they performed extremely well. Get them and you won't be disappointed.

I still struggle with spending $1500 for a set of street tires though, especially when other manufacturerers offer 95% of the performance for half the price, and 95% of people who buy the tires will never use half of the the tire's peformance capability anyway. But as always....."if it makes you happy....."

Word. Pay to play. I got a quote of 1420 from someone giving me a "very good deal"...which is very true.
Why buy a Z06 and skimp on tires. It comes with 295s stock in the rear...you have to know what you're getting into when you buy the car. Anyone can tell you that is going to be expensive.

^ No offense to you or anything but no matter how big your wallet is, you should use common sense when buying this type of thing. If you read reviews and specs on various different tires, you would know that you can get a tire that performs just as well as the PS2 for much less than what these jokers want for them. I'm not talking about going cheap on tires or not being able to 'pay to play' because I have to drop a considerable amount of money on Nitto Invos, and M/T drag radials too. I don't think I am hurting for money, but 1500 dollars for street tires seems like a lot of $ to me.

I see what you're getting at there. The answer to your question is no. However, I suppose since I'm never doing over 160mph on the streets I should be okay. Look, all I'm saying is that if I can find a tire that will grip just as well and probably last longer too for less, it's kind of a no brainer for me. Especially as I said before I'm not reading tire ratings to see how fast I can go on them because it's more than I will use on the streets and I have different tires for the track.
