Vette vs. Minivan - Van backed into my car last night! pics
Last night I was at a friends house just hanging out, then his brothers girlfriend backed her van into my vette!
I tried to stay calm but lost it when she told me she was uninsured!
She claims she will pay for it out of pocket. I contacted my insurance agent, he said get estimates give her a week to pay (money up front) if she can't pay, make a claim and they will go after her after fixing my car.
Got my first of three estimates today total will be around $1500.00! Headlight cover needs to be replaced (light still goes up and down no problem), front bumper will need to be replaced due to the crack just off the side of the headlight.
Warning: Pics may cause some to feel sick!

Yup I feel nauseous.
What is she thinking driving uninsured. The next step should be an LEO knocking on the door. Make sure you document things and get witnesses otherwise its your word against hers.
Hope the car gets fixed to your satisfaction.

The worst part here is your insurance company is not going to go after her for $1,500. They'll just raise YOUR rates. It sucks. I'd press pretty hard to get the cash from her.

Noooooot cool
I am sure they'll fix it soon and you'll be back on the road in no time
At least with the color BLACK we have no color match problems because BLACK is BLACK, there are no pigment vatiations like other colors
Thanks,Matt

I agree! As mentioned, get everything in writing. If your insurance company raises your rates as a result, drop them like a bad habit and shop for new insurance. If/when they ask you why you're changing, respond with a big "Duh"! (I speak from experience - I was hit from behind, stopped at an intersection in my DD and because the guy who hit me had the same insurance company, they decided to simply raise both our rates). Not on my watch!

You need to turn her in, She needs to be taught a lesson, I bet she was on her cell phone also.
I am sorry, But like someone else said, If she don't have insurance how can she fix your car in a week...
Don't waste time on this one.

I agree with everyone else. Give her the week, as your insurance company suggested, but don't budge from the 1 week. After that get the police involoved and give her a BIG FAT fine for driving without insurance. Hope everything gets put back good as new.

She's lucky that there was minimal, cosmetic damage. Your Vette will be fixed and good as new. The real issue is that she's lucky this is all that happened. What if she would have gotten in a serious accident whereas the people she hit got hurt with medical bills, etc.?! We know the answer - all of us who have insurance and pay are premiums pay for it. They really need to revoke her license and not allow her to have one if she doesn't have insurance.

Man that's devastating. What is wrong with people. At least your's was an "accident" though. I had someone key my driver side window the week that I bought mine.
