Default best sounding/performance exhaust for c5

What competes with the Borla stinger for deep sound/price but not over powering at cruise speeds? Looking for aggressive tone but not to much so on a trip.

Borla XR-1 Racing exhaust! I have mine with an air intake, heads, cam, long tube headers and high flow cats. The best sound I've ever heard in person. I've owned B&B Bullets and heard the SLP Loudmouth and nothing compares to the XR-1 sound! It sounds like power, period. Nice deep tone at idle, loud but not obnoxious or rude WOT and purrs when criusing. Listen to music, talk on the phone when criusing with no problem. It doesn't sound like a rattling tin can or isn't screaming "here I am, look at me" unless you want it to. Like the other posters said, everybody has their own preference and would stand behind whatever system they have but I had to put my two cents in. Good luck with whatever you go with but I would try to listen in person before you choose or at least go to you tube and listen to some video clips. Punch in XR-1corvette and enjoy. Where do you live? Come listen to mine. Good luck...

borla xr1/straight pipes are the way to go... Better straight over the axle design, and aren't even loud unless you get on it... Here's a video of mine!

Well I've heard other exhausts, and if your looking for the "old school muscle" sound lt headers will make the difference. Never really heard a bad sounding C5 personally, just baddddddddd

I agree -- I put a lot of miles on my car so I must have no drone at cruise. The Corsa Pace Cars are totally unobtrusive on the highway, have a neat sort of burble at idle, and are very loud when I floor it. I have gotten a lot of unsolicited thumbs up from other Vette owners, a few dirty looks from stiffs, and no complaints at all from my wife or 80-YO parents. The trifecta!!!!

For an agressive deep sound, I would try the BB Bullets or GHL Magnums. However you want an agressive deep sound, but little drone on trips, sorry does not exist. The SLP Loudmouths are about the loudest out there, but lots of drone inside, like the Bullets and BOrla Stingers.
The corsa's are loud when you get on it, and quiet on cruise, but they do not have a deep agressive sound, they have a high-pitch sound.

The best idea is to go to a local car show, or find some vettes local to you and listen in person..that's the best way. I wish I would have done that, but live and learn.

Good luck
