Default Might buy a 04 Vert.....but have questions

Sold my 97 C-5 months ago and now looking at an 04 Vert. I ran a carfax all comes back clean.

Car details:

04 Vert
Miles 48K
Price $24,000
Lemans Blue w/tan top/int

Looks in great shape best I can see. All "normal" options and price is pretty darn good. I checked prices on similar cars and they are pricing around $31,000. Is this car to good to be true?

What are your thoughts and or things I should beware of?

Thanks in advance for any advice :o

$31,000 with that many miles in this market is extremely high. I paid $27,000 for a cream puff 02 vert with 15,000 miles back in June 08.
The 48,000 miles is a little steep but if you like it "go for it" and don't look back! $24,000 sounds like a fair price!

If it's lemans blue, then it's a CE vert. All CE's come very well equipped, but not every option.
6 speed I think is the costliest option.
31k is ridiculous.
Maintenance history is always nice.
Most common problem is leaky rear seals.
I love my CE vert, and I hate to think of what it's worth (or not worth) in this economy.
24 may be a little high, depending on options, and more importantly condition.
Good luck.

Has most every option but NO 6 speed Car looks extra clean and I am buying from a dealer which is why we thought the price was OK. My bank will not deal with a private seller.....darn them.

Does it have the LeMans 24 hour emblems on the wheel center caps? I think $24k is a pretty decent price. Good luck

Hum.....I will have to look and see. The oddest thing is this car has a Cassette player and NOT a CD. Odd I thought.

You'll probably find it has a CD changer in the back.

If the top is shale and not oak, it is a LeMans edition which was extra when new. Car would also then have two tone interior. I have a 04 LeMans edition and have been very happy with it. Since it is an auto check the glove box to see if it has the performance 3:15 rear axle.

Top is shale and has two tone interior. The wheels are NOT stock or what came with the car. They look like the Z06 wheels.

I just trying to decide if this is a good buy. The car is in great condition the mileage not great but not bad.

oh.....what to do. We have a 73 that is a great car but we don't drive it much. I've had a 94 and a 97....oh what to do.....

If it has a 12 disk CD changer that also will be listed along with each option the car was built with. Other things to look for on the GM service history is whether the car received dealer maintenance or not.

Depending upon condition of the car and options the car may well be a good deal at $24K. The real determining factor is whether it is a good deal in your mind. If yes, go for it.
I agree with other posts above.

If the car doesn't have substantial issues, $24K sounds like a good price to me, here on the left coast.

We paid several thou more, less than a month ago, for a CE 'vert, with 9000 miles on it. GAWD I LOVE this car already!!

I don't think we got a GREAT deal, but we DID get essentially a brand-new Corvette for about 1/2 sticker price.

Ours has the 6 speed, and the 12 CD changer in the trunk.

I just came in from the garage.....

Is the sun gonna EVER come out????

Good luck!

If ya pull the trigger, post up a pic!!!!

Here's ours!

should be making the decision soon. The car was at a dealer about 100 miles from my home and it is getting transfered to my local dealer so I can really give it the once over. I am thinking about paying to have it inspected so I really know the condition by a 3rd party.

It looks really good and I love the color. No to mention that spring is coming right?

31k for a C5 with 48,000 miles in this market is outrageous.

Wow, I have an 04 CE vert and it's only worth $24,000 I'm pretty upset! But hey, sounds like you found a gorgeous car and if you like it then go for it, plus I'm pretty partial to this color scheme! If it helps change your mind, there's some potential in it...

Yea, took the late Ken King and I almost two and a half years to get it all done, especially the roll hoops and sun visors w/ homelink. If you need some advice about it, feel free to PM me

I paid $23K for an 04 convertible. Auto,HUD,6 CD,memory seats, dual AC. Not a creampuff. Private party. Put $17k on the bill of sale for DMV.
This is in SoCal.
