Let's face it. The colors which look the best also show dirt the most. Darker colors shine more and look deeper than lighter colors, but require more care to keep them looking that way. I like the Anniversary Red

C5 Registry- Favorite Color Summary ( 98-04)
Let's see ...according to the C5 registry..as follows;
Numbers are totals built for year ( then percentages by color )
Year 97 98 99 2000 01 02 03 04
Total 9752 19235 18078 18112 15681 35767 35469 34064
white 14 11 8 5 7 7 2 7
silver 22
Black 25 21 22 17 20 19 10 16
Lt RED 4 5 8 9 9 13 13
Torch Red 31 28 25 20 20 18 10 14
Anniversary Red 65
Green 2 1
Silver Met 15 11 8 14 8 4 16
Pewter 11 19 16 10 36
Purple 4 .1
Amethyst GRN 1
Navy BL .5 4 7 7
Bright BL 3 4 4 4
Electron BL 11 4
Luxo BL 22
Gold .5
Mil Yellow 11 11 13 8 9
Dark GRN 5 11
Spiral Grey 9 36
So, RED ( various), then Black, then Silver seem to be the most popular and most common.
Personally I chose a " Dark Blue" but every year the blue colors changed so what might be a Dark Blue one year is close to the Electron Blue in another year. The silvers are similar. You need to look at the cars to see the differences in person. I went to Corvettes at Carlise ( PA) in Sept. That was a great place to see 300+ vettes of all years to get a good comparison. The C5/C6 Registry had a tent and some friendly folks there. Maybe we wil see you in 2010!

My choice? Purple- IF you can find one!
They are probably the MOST Rare.
They were only a few Radar Purples built new in 98
No Coupes , 1111 convertibles and about 52 were exported
then in 99 they discontinued Purple and added Pewter .
I coudn't find one ( used) so I went with a Dark Blue that's close to the early Electron Blues. It's a Sweet color for the Coupe...when it's clean.
I get a lot of compliments when I cruise with the Northern VA Corvette Club because it's a pretty uncommon color. The 2003 and 2004 Blues are probably my favorite blue that's real close to the C6 Blue color in 2006-2008.

Best color so far
I have a 2003 Spiral Grey and commuted in it for two years, (80,000 miles worth) paint still looks awesome due to the base coat and primer being dark. You don't see the chip marks if you do happen to get any, they blend right in, you have to look real close to see them, They made this color only for two years - 2003 and 2004 I have 99,000 miles on it now and still looks great

Naw, you guys got it all wrong, the best colour combo is black with tan roof and tan interior. To me it's the look of elegance. Just my opinion though. Oh, and this baby has all the goodies including the MM6.

The best color is the one you like, buy and drive the color you like not the one others like, thats all thats important.
Some people think I'm crazy for haing six black vehicles but guess what it's the color I like.
