In my quest of power mods without compromising fuel economy I vote for a rear diff ratio change. Us MN6 guys do a 4.10 (stock is 3.42), the A4 folks go either 3.42 or 3.73 an increase over the stock 2.73 or 3.15 performance axle. Do a search on this and read all the positive feedback.

The gears will give you quicker acceleration for sure. For added power, a good set of LT headers would give you a boost. Not sure what amount you have in mind, but heads/cam are nice too.

Biggest bang for the buck in my opinion would be gears.

A ton of money means something different to everybody.

Gears are a great idea, but I always thought that doing both the gears and a converter (providing its an A4) at the same time made a lot more sense.

I would say just get a good tune if you don't want to spend a lot of $.

Guess I'll be the second to say nitrous Nothing else will give you the HP for $$$ impact. I do a fair amount of highway driving, so I passed on the 4:10 change-out.

$500 to $1000+ for nitrous. Add 1/3 more rear wheel HP from stock with a simple 125 shot. Installed over a weekend with the help of a few good (and knowledgeable) friends I met on this forum

$2k would almost get you the heads you'd want to make bigger power. Probably get you a cam/timing chain and more.

Heads/cam/headers would get you to maybe 440-465 rwhp. If you are ok with used, you can sure find some deals right now (people de-modding, etc). About $5k for new top quality parts (Trickflow/AFR/etc). I've seen nice heads/cam packages go much cheaper lightly used.

Horsepower without spending a lot of money does not equate. But ya the cheapest method is the bottle for sure. My experience though and I am sure everyone will back me up here...it never stops there

Anytime you up the power it adds strain to the driveline but as far as engine its all in the tune.

headers, exhaust and a tune....you will be happy with the change. Then go for gears. Do not put blower or cam until you do th gears.

If you pay someone to do the work....

Gears + Stall = 2000 + And stall only serves its purpose when you stomp it..

Heads,Cam,Headers,Tune and misc parts = 4,000

If its An auto slap a set of 373 gears and be happy, If its an auto with h/c header pakage with no stall youll get about 400 hp @ the wheels not
440 or 460
