Rather impressed with the traction control and/or ABS
Drove to work this morning. We had marginal sleet and freezing rain last night in Dallas. Yes, that's right, garage queens. I drove the Vette in iffy weather, risking someone hitting me. But heh, it's my DD.
I found one stretch of ice, no other cars around, and no hazards (ditch, rail, wall, etc.). At 20 mph, I hit the brakes to get a feel for how well the car works. Amazing. ABS engaged and gracefully pulled to a stop. You could feel the puter working it's butt off.
This won't give me false sense confidence. I'll still be Driving Ms. Daisey on bad roads, but I was impressed.

I'm taking it easy in these conditions. I won't be testing my systems out!
Here is a good read on AH in relation to winter weather: http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/...ehandling.html

With the correct tires they will also handle well in the rain.

Its fine in the rain with the Michelin AS ZPs - and I should know - but once the snow starts it goes in the garage. 350HP and an A4 sucks. I'll stick with my manual DD for those conditions.

The ABS and traction control works well on the C5, as does active handling. GM did a good job with the safety features of the car.

Ok, you may be right. I had a '92 Ranger with a 5 speed 4 cylinder. Truck weighed about 80 pounds. I had trouble backing out of my slightly inclined gravel driveway in the rain. When the snow came around, I loaded up with sandbags and had to park facing forward a ways back so I could get a running start and barrel up the last ~15 feet of inclined driveway.

Daily driver here. 02 coupe A4 modded to 470 rwhp / 425 rwtq. Traction Control and Active Handling always on - it is an engineering marvel in my opinion. It has straightened me out on several occasions. There is no human being alive with reflexes as fast as the computers in these vettes. Let the rain come (get no snow in FL) - I'm driving my vette (and you know the TC/AH is ON)!!!
