yeah.....I don't know about that. For one, you've already got a limited release car, and if I were you I would keep that in original and pristine shape as long as I could.

That's just my opinion though.

Would be a shame to cut up a pace Car, I could see doing it to a "regular" C5.

But it is your Car, post pics if you do go ahead.

Other problems?? Like extensive cutting and welding for the dash and doors wouldn't be enough? How do you expect to use the DIC? Why don't you just take the panels and misc pieces and have them wrapped in leather, and upgrade all the other leather like mentioned above?

But like others have said, "it's your car, go for it".

In my opinion you are not a Vette kind a guy, If you want to do this to a pace car, I think you should sell it to someone that would appreciate it, Go and get an Audi. End of story.
By the way, Nice first post.

How crazy would it be to transplant an Audi A4 interior into my C5? I can get all the interior parts for the Audi from a friend in Germany used. I'm talking the whole dash, center console and door trim. Obviously I will be doing it at a shop that have done some crazy stuff. I know the measurements will be different and they'll need to do some extensive cutting and welding for the dash and doors but what other problems do you think I'll have?

Has anybody done something like this? Or should I just get an S4 instead

Thanks,

- Ray

I dont think theres too much welding that can be done in C5 doors...

But just to clarify on my previous post. Caravaggio can cover any and everything in your C5 with leather. Dash, new seats, reshaped steering wheel, you name it...lots of cool stuff. Do a search for them, they have a website with lots of pictures. They could probably even come up with a color scheme to go with your pace car.

Vette Essentials is slightly cheaper option. They do not offer dash coverings, but can do custom color combinations for pretty much everything else. They also do excellent work!

Underneath the "skin" of your dash is lots of complicated HVAC and electronic stuff. It will cost big bucks to have it done and drastically cut the value of your car.

If you've got to mod, there are better things to do.

Since it's a special edition Pace Car, I would leave it as is. If it was a regular C5 (like mine), I still would not consider a complete interior swap to an Audi alternative.

I agree that the C5 interior has some cheap-looking components, however there are some excellent aftermarket vendors who have specialty Corvette and C5 interior enhancements that would really class up your interior.

I am currently working on adding a DD NAV system, and updating the following components; double din radio bezel, updated console, updated left knee bolster, updated door panels, updated leather trim and updated steering wheel.

I think the lines of the C5 interior are better than most of the other generations and I absolutely love the passenger side dash grab handle so I want to maintain the look, just improve the finish.

Good luck. Post pics if you make the change, however be ready for the purists to shoot flaming arrows in your direction.

Pffft. After seeing some of the interiors on here.. it can't look that bad. Probably easier to put the LS motor in the Audi though.

I will trade my Nassau Blue and you can hack away at it. I'll put that pace car in my garage and baby it.

Something tells me this isn't the response the OP was expecting. It does make you wonder if his story isn't a bunch of
Why would you buy a special edition Corvette and immediately want to gut it and put in an Audi interior
