Hiccup update need help
Has anyone experienced a momentary dead spot when leaving from a full stop? It is hard to describe but it actually feels like the car shuts off for a second and continues on normally after that.No restart is necessary but it can feel like you actually hit a bump. Mine has been doing it on and off for some time now and a friend who also has a 99 coupe is experiencing the same problem.Any thoughts?
Sorry about the lack of info Both cars are a4 coupes one is bone stock and mine has had a z06 3:42 rear installed a breathless performance air filter and a computer tune.To describe this a little better if you were rotating a shaft and it had a high spot in it you would roll smooth than as you hit the high spot it would bind momentarily until force overcame the resistance.It is that kind of feel when rolling forward.It happens so fast that you can't see if any guages are affected so I don't know if it is electrical or mechanical.It does not do it all the time.It is very severe when it happens as I actually thought I hit something in the road the first time.You do not have to be turning either it can hapen going straight.

Every day, but I think It's our gas to clutch timing.

6 speed here and no problem that sounds like that...if its your timing I guess you will get used to it at some point.

i had that issue and after bolt on mods it got worse.
i had a dyno tune done and you could see a lag where the computer retarded the timing (so they say).
the guy did a dyno tune on it and no more lag.
ommv but my car runs like a raped ape now. (well for what it is anyway)

I had a similar problem with my Grand Prix. Turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator. Might be something to look at as well. But it has 100K on it and things are going to start wearing out.

So both cars are A4s. That helps.
Yes, I have occasionally felt something similar to what you describe.
When I hit the accelerator after being stopped for a light, I feel a very slight hesitation. My Corvette shop said it has to do with the A4 sitting at idle for a bit, and the fluid being repumped. I was concerned that the transmission was low on fluid, but when I had the car in for some work, the shop reassured me that the fluid levels are good.
No problems when I was at the strip this summer. Of course, I was power braking prior to launch.
Anybody else experience this, or have another idea about cause?

My 99 coupe will stall after a burn out. Take with the tires spinning and as the spin dies the car falls on its face and picks up and hit second pretty hard. I am thinking timming or shift points . It is an a4 with 3:15 gear
