Just talked to the Dealership. Yeah NO PROGRESS ON my Car, Still in Reduced POWER MODE.. So I am having it TOWED or FLATBEDED here to my HOUSE!. This is BS!! She said they stopped working on it now because my bill is close to $1200.00 and they fixed nothing.. She said he tried a NEW AC Delco Battery. Check'd all the Chassis Grounds. Got a Replacment TAC Module. Didn't work. So they are not Charging me for it or the Battery.. Check Voltage a Several Diffrent Spots, check Starter Wires, Checked Wires at the Back of the Engine.. Checked Voltage at the Serial Cable between TAC and PCM.. I'm taking Tomarrow off so I can Hunt this B*TCH DOWN!! Anyone want to JOIN my Garage Party, Champaign Illinois!!

Damn brother I just read this whole thing and this sucks. I am not sure if we can do this with the C5 but when I was younger (32 now HAHA) I would disconnect the battery with the car running and if it died that told me the alternator or regulator was bad. Also that thing is so easy to take off, why not remove it and have Autozone test it. I am very interested now keep us updated.

Sorry doesn't help but if you were closer to central FL I'd bring my manuals over and we could go at it.

OK, The Stealership Charged me less then half of what I should have considering how many hours their TECH had in on my car ($600.00). They even FlatBeded it here to my House for Free.. So, I'm gonna start working on it.. WISH ME LUCK. I'll update again later tonight. I hope I can find out what is wrong. I hate it that my Z is Borken..

HOLY SH*T BATMAN ---> Bill Curlee is the MAN!! I posted my problem Directly to him, He responded, Said it was the "Ignition Switch" AND He was RIGHT!!! I followed the instructions on his Thread. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...tion+c5+switch

Put it all back together and BLAMO!! The Car instantlly came to life.. Cleared all Codes and so far so GOOD!! THANK YOU BILL CURLEE!! I OWE YOU MORE THAN A BEER!! I Also Owe thanks to Jet-Jock, TOQUE, HomeWrecker and dgrant3830. I cannot Believe I spent $600 Dollars at the Dealership for NOTHING!! I'm going to drive to the Dealership tomarrow morning and tell them how BAD a TECH they have and I cannot Believe they let him work on the new ZR1's.. .. I learned a lesson too! Ask the Forum and FIX it your Self.. Here are some Pictures of my Repair.

Some of the Parts and the Ignition Switch on the Table.

This is a Picture of the Inside of the Ignition Switch, The Contacts behind those Prongs were Black. I Sanded all the Contacts with 400 gritt, used some Di-Electric Grease and put it all back together.

Thanks Again BILL CURLEE, I OWE YOU A STEAK DINNER and DRINKS!!
GOD I LOVE THE FORUM, You guys are GREAT!!

Ah this is great news to hear. Congrats to you and a big thank you to Bill.

Boy don't you feel like they owe you your $600 back! Or perhaps tell them for $600. you'll educate their "corvette tech!"

And the "at-a-boy award" goes to...... Bill Curlee

Bill is definately the C5 electrical man! He spent quite a bit of time helping me figure out, and fix an HVAC issue last year.
Glad you got it fixed. Now go get your 600 bones back!

Nice job Bill!! This was one of the more interesting threads in awhile. It would seem that some of the dealerships could benefit from this forum. I have two outlets for repairs in my area, both are very good. This does not seem to be the case in other areas, good thing you were around or the OP may not ever have driven his car again.

I simply amazes me in a time like this you still have such humble people like Bill around. We spend $1000's on these cars and come here sometimes as a last result and usually find the answer. I can not count the times I have been helped. Being a car audio guy, I try and share what knowledge I can and locally support many of my CF brothers. Bill you truly are amazing and makes a man like me want to make that drive across the nation just to meet you and shake your hand myself brother.

Bill would probably disagree, but I would send that man a nice gift card to a good dinner house in his area. Hell tell him you got all your cash back from the dealer and just want to show your appreciation.
