Default Z06's get you out of tickets.

So, i'll admit I'm usually a faster driver than the average Joe who does the speed limit everywhere. I used to get pulled over a lot in my civic when it was my daily driver, which pretty much guaranteed i'd get a ticket for something. Having owned the Z for around 6 months ive been pulled over 4 times for speeding and all 4 times they've let me go with either a warning or a "wasting finite materials(gas)" and today was another! The cop let me go with a warning and said, "Slow down and try to keep this jet on the ground" which made me laugh. I'm pretty sure if I had been in my civic I would have been on my 5th ticket already, lol!

Yea, im usually pretty good, and I dont ever drive like a jackass just usually cruise 10mph above the limit, probably because ive been doing it so long im use to going that fast. I'm definitely going to take it easier from now on, but I just thought it was so odd to get out of that many tickets just by driving a different car!

I've probably had 7 tickets in 5 years in both a '94 Trans Am and a 2002 Firehawk.... both are black.

Now I've had a red "cop magnet" Zo6 and in 1.5 years have yet to get a ticket.... I don't drive any differently.

Rule #1: Pay attention to your surroundings and don't speed when cops are around.

I usually get pulled over because the cop thinks I'm a punk kid driving my dad's car and wants to teach me a lesson. I give the cop the upmost respect and prove to him the car is in my name and I get off with a light-hearted lecture every time. Sometimes I think the cop just wants to check out the car a little closer.

Default Flash back!/Ticket City

I,ve had soo many tickets when I was younger that it would make your head swim. I've had my Z since new in 03. I find myself driving more carefully when in my vett. Now when I want to unwind , I take it to the strip . It's amazing what these cars are capable of., Scarry fast! Good luck and keep an eye out for the poo lice.,lol.

I actually lost my license for 5 yrs in Wisconsin for being a "habitual traffic offender"

Not going to jinx myself, but I have only gotten one seatbelt ticket in the Z in 3.5 yrs.

I think that's really why I've gotten less tickets (none)... being more in tuned with traffic patterns.

I've just been a little bit more cautious and when I do run up the rpm in a gear or two I'm a lot more careful.

haha, yes. Hey i didnt complain, it was only a 50 dollar ticket with no points on my license. I have a radar Detector, but the last 2 times I've been pulled over I had forgot to turn it on, lol.

Ryan, I think get the same thing, since i'm fairly young(24) they probably think in driving my daddies vette. Not saying thats the reason for getting pulled over, since i was speeding but im sure the idea popped into their head.

I drive a yellow Z so I'm a target already. I drive it pretty conservatively on the road and Autocross and track time whenever I can.

That said my last 3 tickets(over 10 year period) have been in my company pickup truck I think trucks are a bigger target as I never had one when my company gave us 4 door sedans.

Had a cammed 11sec LT1 Camaro for 4 years, never got one ticket after getting pulled over about 10 times.

Got an '07 Civic Si, 2 tickets in less than a year.

Got the Z06, only been pulled over doing 120 in a 45 and apparently a GTO was trying to catch me so the cop thought I was racing....got off with a warning.

Sounds like angels were riding with you! 120 in a 45?!?!?!! I got a ticket for doing 45 in 25 in a 90 Mazda 626 a couple of years back & the fine was pretty hefty. So far with the Z, only a ticket for no front plate, after being pulled over for doing.....45 in a 25 again!

Its helps, Last ticket i got, I was in my Mitsu Eclipse, I wasn't even speeding. guess the cop just saw my HIDs and intercooler an pulled my over for blown license plate lights which worked , I left the scene with $600 in tickets.
Got caught speeding in the Vette, Cop said, I use to have one of these, next time wait till later at night, then let me go
