I did the relocation under the fuel rail trick. Didn't want to cut my car up. Good luck with what ever path you chose. Mine wasn't that bad. The hard part was tracking down all the parts I needed. If you do this method, go to a speed shop and make one trip for the parts. Nobody else will have what you need. (Checker, Autozone, places like that won't have them.) You will probably need new intake gaskets if your intake hasn't been off for a while. I just reused mine since the old sender went out within a few months and I replaced them then. The part numbers in the pics are from Lopers here in Mesa. Don't know if you have a Lopers or not but they might work for you as well.

Mine replacement unit went out less than 2 months after I changed it.

I'm glad I cut the hole!

Relocated mine to front of block. Glad I did. Extended harness 41". Put plug from front of motor where old sender came out. Just didn't have the heart to cut mine.
