Default The 'art' of driving a Vette

Well you can certainly cruise in your Vette, drive it slowly and just blend into the regular crowd of traffic, me, well with a fairly loud exhaust (shorties/flowmasters) I enjoy driving my Vette with attitude.

My favorite, is downshifting to 3rd with some juice as I go by cars or even downshifting to
2nd for lots of aggressive noise and lots peak pep torque. I have had many other muscle/sports cars 'come after me', even go out of there way, which is just what I was hoping for, oh yes sir .

Do you drive your Vette like a car or a Vette with attitude ?

I obey all traffic laws also, for sure sure sure, its that margin or envelope within the posted speed limits thats available, especially around slow poke drivers. Lots of Porsche drivers like to try and say high to me alot. I usually say bye, to stay cordial. I say bye to lots of Mustangs too. BMW`s/ AMG`s same thing, hi and bye, as we drive within the quideslines of the law, at all times. We are just staying friendly, cause thats a good thing.

I have a tendency to carry more RPM than I might in a "lesser" car, leaving it a gear down around town or even on short hauls on backroads. I probably accelerate a litttle more aggressively - not stupidly or illegally - to the posted limits.

I like the sound and feel of a little more responsiveness, but as noted by others not to the extent of being a dick I think it's possible to enjoy the power on the street responsibly.

Otherwise, autocross is the place to get unwound...

I drive it fairly "normal" ONCEEEE in a while, I like to just gun it just to say to myself "dude you own a Vette" there is something special about owning a Vette.

I pull up next to people in Mercedes Benz's and all these high class luxury cars and they give me the thumbs up and a smile. Keep in mind, my car is as stock as it gets. So its a rewarding feeling =)

When my wife is with me, we cruise (as she calls it) and look cool. When I'm by myself I grab some gears and push the petal, all the while staying within the traffic flow as to not attract to much attention from the LEOs

Let's just say I drive my vette slower than my other cars. Although I am 'very worried' about carbon buildup so I do feel the need to clean it out from time to time, like every weekend.

So you drive a certain way because you want others to notice you, or you think it will impress them? Pretty sad really, and almost certainly garners the opposite reaction. If and when I drive fast, I do it for my enjoyment, or to get where I'm going quickly. I have no need to attempt to impress others with my driving style or the sounds my car makes.

I like to try and maximize MPG in traffic and when I can't go fast. But, I do love dropping the hammer on the freeway and redlining 3rd gear and then grab 4th. This is done purely for my enjoyment. 3rd is way more fun now that I have a cam, LT's & Vararam.

The pedal to the metal whenever possible, and around here, there's plenty of country roads to redline on.....

It's my first Vette, but I've come to realize, it's built to be driven.....

I take it to the track 10-12 times a year where I can use the full potential of the car. Let the ricers and mustangs do their revving fly-bys. I just laugh at them !

Always with in the traffic laws, but there is a lot of back roads here you can pedal it and grab a few gears and unleash the power if need be.....it's Indiana tons of straight corn field flat roads

Here i go , putting my foot in my mouth again, as for me i seldom drive it maybe once a week if not less, but when i am getting on the highway i usually like to have it in 3rd gear, and as of always the trucks and the minivans, seem to think that they will stop me from getting out, as i hit 60 mph, and passing them i am smiling, dont mess with a vette, i am saying to myself, the raw power is just incredible, and it sounds awesome the corsa , just screams when it is third and you are giving it gas, especially when the rpms are higher than 4500-5000
