New Owner/Member Living a Dream (Edit: Photos Added)
Just wanted to introduce myself before I started posting all of the questions in my head. I'm 37, live in central Indiana and just bought a 97 from my brother-in-law. This is my first sports car.......might as well start with the best, right?
I've been looking to buy the right sports car for me over the past few years. My search is different than most because in 1995 I sustained a spinal cord injury racing motocross. Without going into the long, boring details, the good Lord has blessed me to be able to use my legs again. I can walk some, but most of the time I need a wheelchair to get around. Finding a sports car I like that my chair will fit in isn't easy. The GTO doesn't have a big enough trunk. The Mustang does, but I can't stand the interior. I never even considered the Vette until I was at my bro-in-laws one day and on a whim we tried putting my chair in the hatch. Amazingly it fit. That got the ball rolling, and here we are.
I'm looking forward to hanging out here, connecting with others living in my area and soaking up all the good info that's available. I hope to take some photos this weekend.

Welcome to the group. Hope you have nothing be good experiences with your new "toy". I know what you mean about the truck space. I bought a 36" LCD TV and it fit in the back with room left over. I could not believe it either. Hum, should have bought a 42" (ha ha).

You will LOVE your vette! I bought a C4 in 1999. My husband said I would either love it or hate it, well I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! Later sold it and purchased a C5 in 2001. LOVE IT! Now I am wanting a C6, so we have my C5 up for sale :-( Can't afford both.... I hope to be driving my new vert by the Spring of 09. BTW Vettes DO have more room than they are given credit for. Once again CONGRATULATIONS and WELCOME!!!

Welcome to the forum and the World of Corvettes. There are lots of options and ways to make the Corvette "your own". Hope you get lots of enjoyment out of the vette.

I live in Bloomington just right down the road from you. I have quite a few vette friends here in town if you ever want to come down! Love to hear your improvement on your condition, my mother is a quadraplegic from an ATV accident so your story hits home.

I appreciate the warm welcome. As you can see by my join date and my number of posts, I've been a lurker for quite some time. It's awesome to know that in 10 minutes, I get off work and have a Corvette waiting on me to enjoy for the commute home.
