corvette vs new challenger
i was just lookin at the new challenger and im thinking of buying one in the future (srt8 425hp). the sales manager was talking to me and i told him i have a 03 vette and he said the challenger could beat it. im not in to racing but i was looking at the weight of the challenger 5300lbs with 425hp compared to the vette 3100lbs with 350rwhp (dynoed at ecs with some mods) and im thinkin theres no way it would beat the vette based on the hp to weight ratio. is this correct or is he right? brad

There was an SRT8 at the local track when I was out there this spring. It was on the other side of the track on one run. I left .41 sec after the SRT8 and still finished .3808 sec ahead. 12.62 to 13.42. Of course, i've been stomped out there also but not by an SRT8. This was before I added a cam. If you have a 2.72 A4, the SRT8 will give you a good run for your money.

I am holding out for the Challenger vert
There is talk about the 525 hp 392 hemi going in them too
My DD is a 06 Hemi Charger and by no means will it come close to keeping up with my vette

The charger is an embarrassment to the name!!!It's no more a charger than a Dodge neon!! Just a different roof slapped on a Chrysler 300 and about as aerodynamic as a brick!! At least the Challenger pays tribute to the basic style cues of the original!! I think the vet would take it!!

Official quarter mile times from all the rags are coming in at 13.5 for the Challenger, hardly a challenge for a C5. A modded C5, fuggetabouit!!!!

Most models of the new Challenger will burn more gas than a Vette. However there will be a smaller engine version which may get the same mileage as a vette, but then, smaller engine means less power !
