Sorry-I did not know
To All,
I wrote a thread on driving my Z, being "threatened" by a "ricer", and asked about shifting to 3rd. Seems as though I broke the Rules Of Engagement on what I can ask/write about. Seems as though talk about "street" racing is a vio. of CF rules. Where do I find these written rules? Aside from being a dumb thing to do I hardly make it a habit. So, my apologies for a dumb act-again, where do I find the rules of CF?

The emperors new clothes.
You quickly learn here that you can be having a ten page discussion on rod length ratios and how they affect how the car makes power or something as innocuous. Then an offhanded comment about how the longer ratio might give more initial 'on throttle' torque that can be really helpful in a situation like passing on a freeway or trying to get in front of that pesky import that's blocking you and find out you just got banned because one of the mods ignored the ten pages of discussion and just saw "got in front of that pesky import" and tagged it a STREET RACING comment and kicked you. I have had threads locked because I have used an example of something that happened on the street even though it wasn't racing to make a point about a technical discussion.
So you really have to kind of throw out common sense or any hope for even handedness or anything like that. Just don't speak about going over the speed limit on a public road, ever. As far as posting goes, you where either on a closed course/road or you where driving the speed limit or under. That simple. I know it's not very rational, this is the CORVETTE forum not the Prius forum, and we are the customers. At least I know I am as I have spent nearly $80,000 on parts I have purchased from the supporting vendors who pay this websites bills over the years on my corvettes. But this is a case were the customer is not always right and life isn't fair. Just have to deal with it and play by the rules.

In the future just make sure any mention of "the subject mentioned above" and all referenced speaking of it was done on a closed highway in Nevada (and they do close Nevada highway's for runs several times a year).

Wasn't this site sold a few years ago? Maybe the rules have eased up a bit. I'm not saying busting it open on a public highway should be applauded, but being banned for talking about it? Well, it's their playground, so however they want it played becomes law. During the heavy handed rules enforcement of the past, I got the impression that there was lots of bad blood. A lot of members disappeared and new Corvette forums started revving up. They're everywhere now. Makes you wonder is the CF shot itself in the foot going from the headliner to yet another forum. I still like the place since to me it's all about the members and their mostly terrific & informative posts.

I was mildly offended by that post. You made a ricer's day. Do you have any idea what he's telling his ricer buddies right now? If you don't know how to demo the car properly, don't demo it at all.
j/k. but seriously........

Hi Tom -
I would not sweat it.
If most of us (that is to say those of us whom are not making money from CF) had purchased our vehicles so that we could ease our way up to the legal speed limit on every road, we would be on the prius forum.
Yes - the rules here are: no hint of any kind of discussions of exhibition of speed or power on the road, no links to ebay (although the site is sometimes plastered with sales links to ebay lol...), and no babe pictures (we all know how distasteful THOSE are )....
Just keep the discussions to floor mats and waxes.
best regards -
