Tire Pressure Management System.
Do you have the option on your car?
The 2001 and newer cars use one type of sensor and the 2000 and earlier use another.
You MUST use the correct ones for your car. Ask me how I know.
hth,
Jim

The feature can be turned on for a Z06 with a GM Tech II tool.
Tire pressure monitoring systems are now required by federal law on all vehicles manufactured after January 2008. It is a valuable safety feature that has been proven over many years. The Z06 didn't come with them because the Z06 did not use run-flats as the OEM tire.
Personally - I run them in my aftermarket wheels and I appreciate knowing if I have low pressure.

If you already have them, why not install them. The system is on your Z, just not activated. Just go to your dealership and have the system turned on with the TechII, after you get them installed. The system is good piece of mind, whether you have runflats or not.
The type of wheels you get will determine whether or not you need the adapters. Many wheel mfrs have wheels with a bead profile that will work with the OEM sensors, some require adapters, some require banding or epoxying. Ask your wheel dealer/mfr, they should know what you will need, if anything.
