After reading about the Hybrid being upset, I had to share

Every single person I tell is amazed when they find out the mileage these cars are capable of. To avoid the really big hit on the wallet I tend to refill around 1/2 tank. The last one was all city driving + 6 passes down the strip and still averaged almost 20 mpg. As a reminder to TRY to be somewhat responsible I drive with the Average MPG function on the DIC. And right now it's showing over 25 in all suburban type driving!! (and this includes an occasional "goose" just to hear the Corsa's out back)Out of an old habit I still "do the math"after fill ups just to check the DIC (usually a bout a mile and a quarter happy). You got to love a car that has style, looks, can blow the doors off about 90% of what's out there and STILL get MPG like an econo car!!! I just sit back and chuckle when the car dealers get on TV and spout "we have X amount of cars that get 30 MPG",, HA HA,,I got one sitting here!!

Just thought I'd share this. My 03 Vettes window sticker and my wife's 08 Honda window sticker.

They should save their tripe for the SUV drivers; there are WAY more of them than Vettes on the road at half the milage; there was probably one next to him at the pump.

These lobotamized tools are becoming more laughably stupid by the second.
While on the way to work this morning, I had my cruise control set at 69 MPH in the fast lane, and wouldnt you know it-some fugly Prius driving tard comes in and cuts me off and proceeds to slow down so he can snag that all important extra .5 MPG rating.
Of course, one downshift and I blazed right past him, cut his Mr. Peabody looking azz off, and flipped him the bird. He must've gotten the point, because he slowed his overpriced tragedy of a sled down to thier normal operating speed of 30-35 MPH and moved over a few lanes. I've got NO patience for these douchetubes.
Oh, and I averaged 31 MPG on the way to work this morning.

Im sure he liked the sound of 6200 rpms of excessive gas burning power.

By the time the dipwad has saved enough on fuel to justify the hybrid's extra cost, it's big expensive battery will need replacing. Something the salespeople and the popular news media fails to tell anyone.
I didn't buy a Corvette to save gas. We have a Harley and a Civic for that. I bought the Vette for enjoyment, and don't give a rat's patootie what anyone has to say about that! If I get good gas mileage, great, but I'd still enjoy the thing even if it used twice the fuel.

Though that car was fairly new it has potential to go up another 20mpg, I've seen a few at my job that were 50+mpg..who wants to drive a hybrid when you can have a vette that gets as good as gas mileage as 4cyl.

I don't get these "Good for you" people making comments about other people. Isn't it just a matter of perspective?
The person walking or taking mass transit looking down on the hybrid cars.
The hybrid driver looking down on the conventional cars.
Drivers of cars looking down on RVs, Boats, Trailers and Off-Road Vehicles.
The general public looking down on wealthy people flying private planes.

POSSE SENIOR RIDER
I was at a party a few weeks ago and showing off the new ride to some friends (just bought the '02 in February). This is my third Vette and have had one for the past twenty years.
This woman approached us (in her earthy/crunchy/tree hugging way) and said "Oh boy, someone has a mid-life crisis". My response was, "no I don't...and my p*nis is quite large too".
Boy did she do a quick turn around.

thanks for sharing that story man that was great. I get the same thing in my diesel truck from everybody and i can easily get 26 on the hiway just by cranking up the programmer and driving normal... wish people would do some research before they make claims.

Melting Slicks
Ahe when someone bitches at me about my vette and gas mileage I show them my denali. Its catches them off gaurd momentarily. No one really ever realizes when I tell them what kind of mileage my vette gets. At its close to 600 hp. Shameful. Enjoy the day!
