Default Help!! Overfilled oil

Had the oil changed and it is 1/2 qt over. 7qts instead of 6.5qts.
Is this ok or should I drain out 1/2 qt?

Thanks.

7 quarts is OK Should not hurt a thing. Most guys run 7 anyway.
Just paid 4.56 a quart at Wally world by the way.
Bought the 5 quart jugs (5 30 Mobile) for 22.80 a jug.

Thanks!! It would be a VERY messy job to drain 1/2 qt of oil out.

There was a post the other day......... Autozone has a sale with 5 quarts of Mobil 1 and a Mobil 1 filter for 26.00. I picked up two yesterday, might go back tomorrow for more . David

OOPS! forgot, 7 quarts are just fine.

7qts is completely safe, I run 7qts in mine all the time. And I used to run 7L when I was using Castrol, that converts out to 7.5qts. Not only that, but when I change my oil I don't bother with the hassle of raising the rear, so I've got about an extra 1/4 to 1/2 of a quart in the engine just from not doing that.

So you're completely safe, these engines can handle a lot of extra oil before you run into problems.

Hi There,
6.5 qts. is full per the book. The oil mark should be in the center of the hash mark when full.

Guys who track their cars often use 7 as the norm. As the guys said, you're fine
