OVER 40,,6SPEED OR A4 ?? Just Curious!
Theis is inspired by the under 40 thread,,where the premise is young guys mostly drive Z06s. Turns out a pretty good spread of coupes,verts,Zs,M6s and A4s. Sooo what about us "MATURE" drivers,,,What do you drive,,and how do you drive it??? I'm 61+ have a Pewter 2000 FRC 6speed .I use it for every thing.Running around,a little drag strip duty and plans for travel. Been known to stuff it into exit loops at 60 to 70 mph as well. Lets here from some "OLD FOLKS"

I'm 47 and have my very first Corvette, a yellow 2003 convertible with an automatic. My wife and I have a 100 mile round trip daily commute, and this is our daily driver. Love that 30 mpg, if I can keep my foot out of it!

49 here, have a '99 coupe with Z51 and some mods. Mostly like traveling in it and hanging out with the Falls City Corvette Club. No, its not a daily driver, have other vehicles for that. It's an A4

I'm 53 and both my C5s have been 6-speeds. Love shifting through the gears.

Born in '55 and have a SIX SPEED Pewter '02 Coupe. I've autcrossed it only once so far as have only had it just over a year, but planning more and drive it like it was meant to be driven.
I was born with a steering wheel in my hands. Sorry Mom....

64 years young here, had a 427 '67 in it's day, but now drive an '01 A4, only cause I bought it used a got a steal... could take either. The best time I've had recently was a trip to a banked 1/2 mile oval and go as fast as your nerve will allow.

2000 Pewter FRC, it's my daily driver at 60+. I've had it for just short of two years, and my 8th corvette, just shy of 130k. Wanted to have have a little rarity in this car! Had a 76 vette with an auto, and just not my cup of tea........... Robbie

Turned 40 in Nov,I have a 2000 with 6-speed which I enjoy immensely
slicing through the gears.Since I only drive it occasionally,I prefer
a manual and will continue to own manual tranny'd 'Vettes as long
as the knees hold out.
I may not be a professional race-car driver but,it's nice to simulate

I always thought Vettes should have to be shifted manually and the top should go down (but that's just me). At almost 60 I'll stay with the MN6 cars 'till I can't remember the shift pattern, then I'll consider the alternative.
Don't hate, I just like the leg/arm exercise.

I am WELL beyond the 40 mark. Have a '03 Z06, that I have drag raced on 4 different tracks, use it for road trips. would like to get into HPDE with it, my favorite pastime is running canyons, and I commute to the shop once or twice a week in it at 120 miles round trip.
Every time I drive it I am soo glad my wife picked IT out!
6 Speeds RULE!
