2x Child Safety Latches on Pass Seat - Do you have them ?
Guys:
I have a 2004 Z06 that I bought NEW from the dealer. I have been looking over my manual, and the maintenance manual. I think I'm missing the 2x child seat safety hooks at the base of my pass seat. The passenger seat bottom shows little labels that there should be hooks there to connect child seat to, but there are no hooks or anything there. I have been using the seat belt on my sons seat which gets it in there quite tight actually, but I want to use the hooks that are supposed to be there. I do have the single rear hook in the trunk area.
I want to find out if my car is missing these 2x hooks under/behind the pass seat. I think being safety related the dealer should get these for me (even if my car is out of warranty).
Does anyone have these ? Pics ? Am I missing something stupid ?
Thanks !

Here is a pic of the seat with the 2x labels where 2x child seat hooks should be. There are no hooks, and nothing within the seat cause I stuck my hand all the way thru.

Hi,
I can't be of much help other than to say I had the same concerns with my car. Labels indicate that there should be 2 safety latches for the seat but none exist. I don't even have the tether hook that you showed in your pics!

I wonder if they were supposed to be there ? I think they should since they are labeled to be there... I think your car is a 03-04 spiral grey.

I can't answer your question either, but I sold a Ford Explorer to a guy years ago and he said there was something missing he needed to tie down his kiddie seat.
I called the dealer and they said "He's right, we'll order it for free". Might want to check with your dealer, they usually don't quibble much on safety items.
BTW, congrats on looking out for the kid. My grandkids love riding in the Vette but they know they have to buckle up.

They are there. The latches are little closer to the edges of the seats than the lables would indicate (1/2-1" or so). Also, they are a total PITA to get to. If you feel around from the back of the seat, you will find them and that should help you find them from the front. I have to loosen the car seat strap all the way and do a lot of fiddling to get the hooks onto the latches. The leather in that area is somewhat blocking access. Your hands may get a little tired putting in the seat the first time, but it does get easier.
I did not do any damage to my car seat from the infant car seat base taking my daughter for rides.
Have another look. Good luck.

Ok, Now I feel like a kid with my first girlfriend.... I just can't find it..... and I fished my fingers everywhere in my seat looking for it...
But seriously. I fished thru my seat looking and feeling for the hook. The only thing I found was what I'm pointing to below in my pic. This is only a piece of wire on both sides of the seat though. Its not very well "MOUNTED" to anything solid. Is this what you meant ?
Thanks guys !

I only have the one anchor in the cargo area. I don't know why there are two stickers on the seat but I think there is only one anchor.
I got out my owner's manual and it reads like there is only one anchor.

Those are not them. They should be in the seat bottom. Is there a slit in the rear part of the outboard sides. Near the tilt part of the bracket you are pointing to. They would be inside the seat / cushion.

If there is an anchor in the cargo area it would be for the tether. Which prevents the car seat from tipping forward. The ones that attach to the seat bracket are called "latches". It provides a more positive system to cinch down the car seat without using the safety belt.

No, they should be about 1/2 inch below your arrows on the *** part of the seat. On the left of the bracket (right side of your picture) But they appear to not be there. There should be 2 slits in the seat bottom right inside the 2 hinges. Thats weird. Make the dealer replace it, it is actually part of the SRS. GM should step up and fix it. Thats like the car coming without seatbelts or airbags.

Ok.... Feel free to call me a dummy.... *S*
Guys:
I found the "slits" your talking about. Thanks so much for your help on this. I can only hope other fellow vetter's can learn from this post.
On the seat bottom, just inside of the hinge on either side of the seat there is a "slit" cut out of the leather seat. Its NOT obvious at all, you have to run your finger across the leather seat because the slits run the direction of the front/rear of the car.
Thanks again for your help guys !
