Roads in Colorado are just as bad as what I have read about in Pennsylvania. I agree that the DOT's seem to think they don't have to roll the asphault anymore. Just pile it into the hole and let the cars flatten it out. Same old story, they think it saves them $.

Another vote for PA having the worst roads. Anybody remember what driving across Route 80 was like before they redid it? It was all concrete. At every seam (every 50 or 100 feet?) the road was pitched. It was like being in a boat in a strong chop.

Here in Indiana, I refrain from the words "road" or "highway", and prefer to use "GOAT PATH"...it's much more accurate.

i remember a news article from the fall of 07 that the Fed was cutting funding/grants to states in the way of local road repair until later this year, i forget the exact reason but the article mentioned the roads would be in poor shape this year, probably needed new carpets, paint and other fixer uppers in the gov. offices

The roads around metropolitan Detroit have to the be some of the worst in the nation. When MDOT finally does get around to reconstructing them, the new concrete/asphalt only lasts a couple years, then they're back to patching them with cold-patch. If they would just build them right the first time!

I rode my Harley from Upper Bucks to Bloomsburg. Rt 80 almost made me pee blood. The harmonic pounding was murder. Bump, bump ahhh , bump bump ahhh for almost 65 miles.

Illinois roads don't take a back seat to anyone when it comes to poor quality! They keep stuffing tax dollars into the potholes but they can't seem to keep them full!!!

For the most part of Florida, the roads are truly great!!! I am originally from PA and the roads are awful up there. Been here in Fl for 30 years and everytime I go back to visit family, that is my biggest gripe are the roads and no left turn signals.

I second the vote for Michigan roads being the worst. Thanks to our worthless governor Granholm we'll soon be back to driving on dirt roads once the paved one's finish crumbling.

They have been working hard to improve the roads in Missouri and have made good progress, but there is still a lot of work to do. As usual, money is the issue.

The roads here in Hampton Roads, Va are alright, but from what I've seen on my trips up to Boston, big cities suck for maintaining roads. Going through NYC is a hassle (I95 crossing the GWB has as much holes as craters in the moon), but Boston has random potholes in the most unexpected places. It wasnt that long ago when I bent one of the wheels of my 540i with a pothole that was in the center lane if I93... Came out of nowhere and also destroyed the shock support plate...

Great roads throughout AZ. especially in and around Phoenix. they have applied rubberized asphalt that makes them SO Smooth and Quiet! We just made two trips to Southern Cal. and Wow! The roads and freeways SUCK bigtime! Same In Spokane Wa. Where I recently visited family...Horrible! We really appreciate the roads here. " There's no place like home, There's no place like Home!"
