Geez I was thinking it might be time to replace mine on my 04 before I have issues but I guess I'll hold off for at least another year.

My 02 didn't make it past the winter of 04. They replaced it with another Delco. So far so good.

My 04 in the Vette is still original and going strong.

I swapped mine out last year in my '01. Went for a CDN tire spiral gold eliminator with AGM technology no leak. $189.00 has 3 year replacement and 10 year pro rated. So far so good. Took it out for hibernation and without it being on charge and started her up in about 3 secs no problem...

I have an 03 with the original AGM battery. I decided to replace it now before I get stranded someplace so I went out shopping.

Of all the places I went, the only AGM I could find was the Sears Platinum and the Optima. I’ve heard too many bad reports on the Optima so I decided to skip that one. The only thing I don’t like about the Sears (besides the $190 price tag) is that it has both the side, which I use and the top posts. I guess that will be OK but I would rather have it clean on top without the terminals.

Does anyone know of any other places that might have the AGM?

Hello, Replaced the oem on my 03 vert last august. Died suddenly in a super market lot. Drove there, went shopping, came out, nada, not even a click. Should have known it was failing, the week before some of the electrics, (seat, door locks etc, were doing strange things), Came out clean, no leaks. Bought the car used and very low miles, under 15000. Suspect the orig owner did not use maintainer. Plus 3 weeks on the truck during shipping didn't help. Replaced with Pro Series AC Delco, from pep boys--109.00 + tax. 7 yr warranty. Always use a maintainer, stored from nov 07 to last weekend. Cranked up in a second, no problems.

QUOTE TraceZ
I have no idea what battery is in mine.

It looks like a GM battery with the vents and the green eye, but it has both top and side posts. If it had a label on it, it's long gone so I have no idea what battery this is.

I plan on getitng a new 6 year Delco Professional battery this spring yet.

Not sure what you have, most GM batteries that had the green eye, did not have vents, except the very older models of the 70's and 80's.I have a Delco from 1999 on my work bench with dual terminals and the green eye, but no vents. It is still good, been in 2 different cars and now used for work bench uses, always had a maintainer on it. There were some other brands that had the eye for a while.
Good Luck
