Default Looking for radio replacement ideas

Anyone replace their stock radio? Just looking for good options that improve the sound system and look of the interior. Also would love to hook up my phone etc.

I have the stock Bose as well. When I looked into this apparently you have to get a new trim piece because the double dins just don't fit right. They are just a bit too big.

I found this on the web that may be helpful.

Are you planning on going with a single din unit to avoid having to modify the bezel? If so, there aren't really very many stock looking units to choose from.

There are, however several great double din options if you modify the bezel, or order the metra bezel that comes cut out for the double din.

My preference would be to go with a Double Din offering to get you the 7" video screen and the gps navigation functions in addition to the audio capabilities and the ability to bluetooth your phone and enjoy hands free calling and control of your phone. This really adds a modern touch to your C5 and is safer, too.

Metra sells a double din dash kit for a little over $200 and Kenwood, Alpine, or Pioneer all have nice offerings that would meet your needs. Just replacing the stock head unit will improve the sound but be careful about catching the bug! The price starts to really go up the more you want to improve the sound.

Great info, that’s why I love this forum. I really appreciate the suggestions. I’ll look into getting one of these for sure.
thanks

Yes and no. The sound is a small problem but I’m after cleaning up the look of the interior. Tired of my radio stack looking like a Chevy cavalier. However the person I bought this car from did installed the aux input but it doesn’t work. I haven’t looked into it but do you have suggestions/how to do the aux mod?

I wired my aux Jack with the CD player. I use a blank cd, put the head unit to cd mode and it plays through the aux Jack. There is a totorial on here somewhere.
