Default My Z06 died yestereday -- R.I.P.

The headline says it all. I didn't find out until this morning. I had taken her in to a local shop to have some work done and yesterday morning, apparently on a test drive, the guy wrecked her.

I got a call this morning telling me about it, and have spent most of the day dealing with the insurance companies, the police, going to the impound yard where it was taken to see it and take pictures. She's really a gonner. I'd be amazed if she can be saved. She's a mess.

Well, such is life. I'll salvage what I can and start looking for a replacement. Anyone know of a good deal on an '03 or '04 Z06 in good shape with low mileage, let me know.

Hi Steve -

That is AWFUL.

I wonder what kind of throttle malfunction that could have been.....

Here is to a resolution that will put you in an even better Vette.

best regards -

Don't these cars have an electronic throttle? I highly doubt anything got "stuck". He just lost it.

Wow, what a freakin' idiot. I'm sorry for your loss and it's too bad this clown can't man up and admit that he just lost control. Good luck on the vette shopping.

throttle malfunction?

Wow... this shop guy may be a royal thorn based upon not admitting to the facts. Keep some lawyers in the loop.

As if it is not bad enough to total a customers car, but then to lie about it. What a piece of work this dude must be.

Sort of - electric, controlled by the computer. Maybe it was a "bug" in the software!

Oh, and to the OP - sorry to hear you lost your vette this way! I would be... well I don't know what!

No big deal, that's what the SHOP OWNER'S insurance is for. Don't let them screw you over.

The driver Bruce Kindberg, who owns Bruce's Speed Shop on Route 46 will be hard pressed to find customers after this.

I doubt it...people tend to forget quickly unless they know how to search...

Shop needs to make this right, it's pretty obvious there wasn't any malfunction.

Oh, the "accelerator malfunctioned." Of course. So it's really not his fault.
